Either would be nice. If we could get it to be a vehicle in PR though, you should go with the AC-130. If you go with it being a static, i dunno, I think a C-130 with guns on it would look alot cooler.

You can make it carry vehicles according to that youtube post a few back, but it was bf1942 so maybe notXxX_HangMan_XxX wrote:C-130 would be cool. but kinda pointless while it can't carry vehicles![]()

Well you could make it spawn vehicles, but you'd have to have a really well designed map with a really awesome reload system for it to work.

dont see the need for this model, since it wont be used anyway or most likely.

Re: [Vehicle] Lockheed C-130 Hercules
Did someone make a workable C-130 that could transport vehicles?
I think what they did was they made the inside some sort of material that collided but didn't cause any damage. It was a little odd... but I know that it worked (albeit things moved around a bit on the inside... but it seemed possible)
Lemme look around and see if i can find that video...

Re: [Vehicle] Lockheed C-130 Hercules
Right... Someone did a mod for 1942... not BF2... still.. you'd think bf2 would be possible...
pretty much what he did was made the inner material different from the outer material and coded that specific material to not cause damage...
now if only we could add parachutes to the vehicles...

you know... after watching that video a few times... some of the weapons and vehicles seem a bit familiar.... XDThis is a demo video of the C-130 Transport plane I filmed during the development. The video was to show how the C-130 was able to transport vehicles like the Hummvee and Land rover.
In the BF1942 modding community it was long thought that this would be impossible. One mod had tried and the vehicles ended up blowing up inside the cargo bay of their CH-47 Chinook because it took too much damage from the collisions with the Chinook's walls. The secret to successful air transport lies with the material manager. The inner walls of the C-130 used a different material than the outside and this material was specially coded so collisions with vehicles, like the HUMVEE, wouldn't cause any damage to either vehicle. Monkeyphonics and I worked many nights to figure this out.

trust me, when i tell you that everything had been tryed and that it would already have been done, if it would be possible, in points like that bf42 had some nice features that bf2 simply lacks off and, oh adding the parachute would aktually be possible, since in bf2 it basicly is just another weapon, compared to bf42 where the chute was hardcoded to the inf

BF2142 Titan Game mode alike maybe? Spawn there and para drop out or something...it would be epic but not that practical...AnRK wrote:Well you could make it spawn vehicles, but you'd have to have a really well designed map with a really awesome reload system for it to work.

I would simply like some kind of cheap way of doing airborne ^_^ I loves parachuting in going "BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"SkaterCrush wrote:BF2142 Titan Game mode alike maybe? would lead to some interesting mumble battles...
I know PR is all about realism.. but couldn't we put in a few funny maps just for fun XD
=) Maybe the noobs would all play those maps instead of the team oriented ones haha
^_^ But seriously... some kind of cheap knockoff of a C-130 floating in the air as people jump out would be kinda interesting... maybe tie them into squads or 2 squads.... like... i don't know.. XD it'd just be interesting thats all i'm saying

there is one simple reason why there will NOT be paradropped vehicles in PR "cartellery"

Re: [Vehicle] Lockheed C-130 Hercules
Hehe, that would be the worst possible tactic. It would never work, only about as often as someone dropping a c4 pack out of a helicopter... onto another helicopterMaxfragg wrote:there is one simple reason why there will NOT be paradropped vehicles in PR "cartellery"
I mean, you'd be in abig honking plane making so much noise you could probably heard from half-way around the map. On top of that, it would take some time for the parashooting vehicles to far, so even if you were able to line an enemy squad and drop the thing at just the right time, they'd have had plenty of time to move out of the way.
I'd still like to see the efficiency of carrying another vehicle inside this thing with the implosin effect. But leave that till after you're done.
BTW, CA would be able to make alot of use out of an attack variant, and there's been idle talk about how to code AC-130 area attacks which might actually go somewhere if you model this.

and remember people the BF1942 engine and the BF2 engine are NOT!!! the same. just because it can be done in one doesn't mean it can be done in the other.
