With this disappearance at long ranges problem, I've thought up a solution. Since the problem is blending in at long range (foliage also disappears long range), the BASE skin for Snipers should be textured to match those of the surrounding terrain.
That way, the textured camo "skin" of the sniper makes him much more invisible, increasing to the realism of making the sniper look like the terrain.
Also, I dont think it would be a halfbad idea to throw back on the ghile suit over that new skin texture. It always makes me feel safe when baddies pass nearby me
