I love the idea of MEC vs Insurgents, based in some Arab country, however I'm not very keen on the idea of the MEC vs Taliban.
The idea of the MEC in Afghanistan, seems a bit too out there for me. Pakistan is not an Arab nation and Arabic is not widely spoken there, so it's not like the MEC could represent Pakistan, nor Iran for that matter being that Iranians speak Farsi and are mainly Persian not Arab.
For the MEC to get to Afghanistan from an Arab country, it'd have to conduct a massive airlift operation, on the scale of that done by western forces in recent years. Or alternatively, they could invade Iran and defeat one of the largest militaries in the world on their home turf, then move on to Afghanistan to take on either the Taliban
or western coalition there
Iranian and Arab relations have never been particularly good, and there's no way Iran would let a massive army of Arabs, take a quick short-cut over their soil.
Maybe if we could get some Pakistani-looking player models made up, with Urdu voice acting, then it'd be cool to have an additional faction of the MEC. That's a lot of work though, and probably more hastle than it's worth.
As for MEC vs Arab insurgents, you could even throw in one or two predominantly western-issued weapons, like the M16, FAL or Steyr AUG, to represent backing by the US or it's allies.
