Well, this problem has really dumbfounded me, ive played PR with no problems (side that mp5 mismatch stuff) since .85 first came out and also play one of the .7 versions.
Anyway my problem is that i will launch the game from my shortcut on my desktop and the screen will go black for a second, then the screen will turn to a blue screen of death which only stays for about 1 second before disappearing. I read something about "driver" on the blue screen but it just goes by too quick. The computer will then restart and every time i try to get into PR i get this problem.
can anybody help me?

Re: blue Screen of death after start up
Go into your bios and turn off auto reboot on crash.
Next time you get a BSOD you should be able to read the error message.
Good luck

Re: blue Screen of death after start up
incase the bios does not provide that option, you can tell xp how to behave:
Disabling Blue Screen Of Death Auto-Reboot - Windows XP Tips and Tweaks on Tune XP
google the error code (usually "0x000000xx") or the error name (ie "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal")
running "chkdsk c: /r" in the console can help fix broken system files
reinstalling your gfx drivers might help too
other than that i got bad news: sounds like your hardware is failing (maybe mobo)
if you have alot of external devices disconnect them all (ie USB-Audio)
