The tank operator carries an SMG or in the UK's case an L85A2 carbine and the pilot carries a pistol with the bonus of the parachute.

The L85 AFV is givern to British Warrior IFV crew's and i suspect the Challenger 2 crews have them too, the British military do not use the L22 Carbine (SA80 Carbine)

Dont you think its a bit harsh to allow the British crews to have a sub-carbine while everyone else has a pistol?

No, i dont at all. The British will be limited in other areas (According to reality), they will not have anti-personal mines and constantly need the toilet because they eat curry and chicken tika instead of K-pak's .

The devs are trying to make little differences, the 'equivalent' value will start to disapear on some of the equipment.

I was lead to beleive that the MP5 was only givern to US helicopter crew chiefs and you cant fit one of them in your F-18 cockpit .

Also, mabey we could limit the Pilot's to the number of aircraft on every map.

If class limitations come into play, that sounds like the best use for them. The only thing that worries me about that is that if a pilot spawns as a pilot seeing that a plane is ready to take off, then a Spec Ops hops in and the Pilots left as a Pilot until he next dies. Pilot restricted vehicles would be nice, if that can ever be made, but I guess it's a pain for stuff like transport choppers. In their case, I guess it'll require the expansion of all choppers to incorporate two sections, so the pilots can only enter the crew sections and anyone can enter the passenger sections.

Great ideas by a lot of people here. I just hope they are all possible. I have one idea that I have thought of. Why not give ALL classes some type of electronic grenade that can be seen by friendly pilots on their HUD. This way pilots can get a better fix on enemy positions. I thought about colored smoke grenades assisting pilots but that wouldn't work.

Also, before BF2 came out they showed on their promo video a spec ops soldier guiding in a LGB (dropped by an F-15) to a tank (Why isn't that on the game anyway?). Can this be done on PRMM?

Only Pilots should be able to enter Fighters, Attack Helicopters and Bombers wile anyone can enter a Transport Helicopter and only pilots can fly it.

Apparently, DICE were never able to get the laser designator to work properly.

Whilst I may be (and probubly am) wrong about the MP5 thing, are you saying that you can get an L85A2 AFV into your Tornado cockpit?

The MOD announced that the L85A2 would be issued to Apache pilots, not tank crews.

Yeah, his plan meant that AIR pilots would be carrying handguns and VEHICLE pilots would be carrying pistols, but in the case of the UK the L85 AFV. I think it'd be suitable if all ground crews were given a carbine or SMG and they're the ones who are more likely to survive the destructions of their vehicles and have to survive in combat situations before being reunited with a driver's seat. In BF2, 99 times out of 100 the pilot goes down with his plane, it's very rare that he'd decide to parachute out due to the damage on a jet either being repairable or too critical to have time to escape. It'd be nice if aircraft could, like ground vehicles, catch fire giving the pilot some 'beyond repair' time to escape. If he does land alright he's got a pistol, it seems unfair if he didn't.

I'm not sure about the Type 05's use, but it did start production last year and the fact that BF2 is set a few years in the future and the fact we're all presuming that the battles depicted in BF2 are major frontline battles, it does seem likely that they'd be using it, at least in the situations we see in BF2. If the armies were rushed into war, I think it'd be safe to say that the Chinese could bump the production of their weaponry however they liked. Isn't like everything made in China already? Just imagine all those factories pumping out weapons.

Your right about the JS, it would be pumped into production like the L86A2 would be changed into the DMR role or the USMC useing the TUSK system.

The MEC's use of a SMG is strange thogh, i think an AK-47 would stock that instead of the AK-74.

The AKS-74U can be used by the Recon soldiers, with a flat, long silencer and optical sight.
