i have gone through the list of fixes for PB related problems, to no avial.
i join a server, bout 20 seconds in, i get booted by PB saying, PnkBstrB.exe initialization failure. this has only started happening today, it was fine yesterday and the day before, i have uninstalled pb and reinstalled it, and updated BF2 manually. idk what else to do.
also, can an admin or mod please change my forums username to Sike3000.
thanks.

Yeah, I jave exactly this same problem too.
I don't know what's going on, everything has always worked fine with my computer with PR up until today when this problem started.
Anyone have any idea what we can do?
It's impossible to play the game right now.

Re: PnkBstrB.exe initialization failure
I have four possible fixes for this problem as I have tried them before and they worked so far.
1.) Update Punkbuster with pbsetup. PunkBuster Online Countermeasures
2.) Use pbsvc PunkBuster Online Countermeasures look in the first paragraph you'll see a download link. After you run pbsvc, use one of the two options to uninstall punkbuster, it will do some tests and uninstall punkbuster. Then run pbsvc again and install punkbuster.
3.)If you are running Vista, then you will have two files for the system, system32 and SysWOW64. The problem might be that both PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB are in SysWOW64, and not in system32. Find SysWOW64 and scroll down to PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB. Copy both of those files and paste them into system32. Now Project Reality should be working properly without the PnkBstrB.exe error.
4.) Go to the start menu while PR is running and go to Services. Search services if you cannot find it. open up Services and scroll down to PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe. Make sure that both are running. If PnkBstrB.exe isn't running then right click PnkBstr.exe and click Properties. Then in the drop down menu select Automatic. Then click start. It should be running automatically now.
Try any of those solutions and see if they work. Good luck!
