Commander Kit

Post by BogusBoo »

Hey, i would really like to see a commander's kit, because i think he misuses the officer kit because he is not going into battle. how about a commander's kit with nothing like the pilot, only without smokes or field dressing.

Tell me if it was already suggested. :? ??:

I think the commander still needs access to a weapon. Maybe give him a carbine with only 2 mags? I think this is a good idea, but it won't come under high priority for any of the devs so its unlikely to happen :(

No, we don't need 2 mags. will the cmd be in battle? no.

He needs to be unarmed.

How many times have you seen a fighting commander, i only 3 times or so.
wich then he got redirected back to the command post by the whole team.

Not needed, and if you make suggestions use the search button.
Also think more about youre suggestions;

is it really needed?
is it better for gameplay?
hasnt it been suggested before?

1: it is quite needed to stop a fighting commander who is needed to give orders or else the whole battle is lost.

2: it is for more realistic gameplay.

3: i did a quick search and no, no-one has suggested it before.

besides, we have grunts in battle so no need for cmds to be fighting!

Very few times have I seen a Commander fight in battle. Why would a Commander go into battle? He can't access any of his functions, so he may aswell be in a Squad or be Squad leading.

Realistic maybe, but that would be the ONLY purpose it serves. However it won't contribute to gameplay and we don't need another kit cluttering up the menu. Don't fix what ain't broke.

This would completely stop the cmd from going into battle. and a lot of commanders in PR go into battle.

besides, only commanders will be able to see these kits in request a kit! like officer kit.

I've never seen a commander go into battle in PR once.

Really there is no point, only sometimes do i see people accidentally becoming the commander in the field when they accidentally pressed something, like i did a few times.

Theres just no need as the commander cannot do anything on the field anyway.

If your commander is going in to battle, he's a moron (probably some exceptions, but they escape me...) What's the point in having one in that case?

Better they should be tempted by this and then admins can identify them as someone that needs resigning or a little re-education.

I've never seen a commander in battle for several versions (well apart from myself once when I insisted on having a tour of a battlefield we'd won :D *runs and hides*

on korengal the commander sometimes is called upon to fire his weapon.

Also, the commander sometimes needs to resign to fulfil a necessary role, such as a supply run with a truck, he needs a combat kit to do this. And when he gets back he'll jump back in the box.

Like I said, some exceptions, but 9/10 he'll fall in to the moron catagory.

Actually this is sort of true, i did once need to drive a logi about as far as north village on Kashan once as commander, but i didn't worry about any enemies. This was before the whole 'lets take some T-72's to north village at the start of the game for trolling' strategy.

And what exactly would prevent a commander from just not taking a commander kit to fight in the battle?
Anyway, why would you want a commander with this kind of behavior?

I would object to Insurgent or Taliban commanders being unarmed.. I have had occasion to hop out of my Hideout I was commanding from to engage enemy forces directly outside of it..

they should give him a pistol and make the model an older fat guy. he really doesnt need a weapon, all he does is sit in his box.

Yes he can.

If the enemy are attacking his main (feasible in maps such as Fallugah or however you spell it) then he ahs every right to hop out and return fire. I have many times.

So instead of telling the useless commander (who is out in the fight) to get back to his post, we should tell him to get the commander kit? Which will force him to stay out of combat, since its will unrealistically take away all weapons from the highest ranking officer.

Sounds pointless. Nobody would spawn with a commander kit(if there was one) so any person who does not wish to sit in the box would simply not request the commanders kit.

Although I would not be opposed to a commander kit for insurgents/taliban since they ARE out in the field along side the other insurgents. But, unless i'm forgetting something, the current officer kits are good enough.

No, only if you have a commander's kit you can get into the box!

and besides, he could have a pistol, just for self defence.

I went into combat as a com once. It was on mumble with maybe three other squads. We were losing on Qwai as US, and since I had already dropped my bomb, I decided to whip the team back into shape by personally leading our assault on the PLA main.

My battle cry? "TO ME, SONS OF SIGMAR! FOR THE EMPEROR!"

We won :)
