50 cal loaded indicator
well this is a rather simple suggestion.
sometimes when hopping into a hummv or a mg i find that i dont know if the weapon is loaded or not, and would rather not let the enemy know that there is a fob, or a hummv over a hill.
All i want to suggest is a little indicator that reads "0" or "Empty" when a 50 cal is out of ammo. It could probably go were the ammo amount would normally go in vinilla.
This is just to prevent the waste of ammo and deaths releated to being out of ammo.

Or you could just hit the 'r' key every time you enter the gunner seat. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but it's always good to do that so you have a fresh box of ammo at the ready.

Does the chain of bullets disappear once the ammobox is out of ammo?

What about a light on the actual gun static? Green equal rounds red= empty

theres always a chance sombody fired maybe 10 bullets and left it.... thats wasting 90 rounds of perfectly good ammo right there. Tell you the truth i think there should be a indicator that shows quarters of how much ammo is left in a box, its not terrible hard to measure the amount left in a open box.Squeezee wrote:Or you could just hit the 'r' key every time you enter the gunner seat. They should try to see if they can make you say "eug it still feels heavy "meaning more then 85% amo left"
Also do one for medium and when it feels light as empty.
I'm not sure if they can make your guy do this or add it in some other way but It would also be nice on your rifles to be able to check how much your gun weights out should just be triggered if you dont fire for 30 sec hes auto checks to see if his gun feels light or heavy.

Maybe a "sprint-like" meter that tells the approximate amount of ammo left can be implemented? this way the gunner can at least know he have enough ammo ready for an engagement if things go bad.

There is the ready time, what are you doing during that time? Im sure in real life you can check the ammo situation. I think that at the end of the ready time, you would be briefly informed of the amount of ammo inside, at least roughly or precisely (it doesnt really matter).
Also, if possible, when you're reloading your firearm -- i.e. handheld firearm -- you should be informed of the amount of ammo left have left in your mag during the reload phase. This counter would reset to full when you change your mag and then dissappear when the reload animation is completed. If you're fine with the amount of ammo you have left, you may just interrupt the reloading before the counter resets by selecting another weapon and then switching back. This way, you wouldn't have an onscreen ammo counter all the time, but you could also check your ammo situation when determining whether to change your mag.

I don't know if any of you have ever played the videogame of Peter Jackson's "King Cong". But in that game, they did a pretty good job without much of a HUD. You could check the amount of ammo left by pressing a seperate command, and the character would say "It's okay, I have enough ammo" for a lot of ammo. And there was one for medium, something like "This should do for a while", and one for allmost empty: "I'm almost out!".
This smells hardcoded for the BF2 engine, but it would be a cool way of measuring your approximate amount of ammo left, without actually getting the clip out and checking which would take more animations and stuff. Plus, it would be quite realistic.

Come on guys... if you try to remove this, there will be no more those "Oooooh... Bloody hell, fifty is ouuuuuut!!!" situations on korengal.

I was firing the SAW and it was very hard to tell if i had 100 rounds or 50 and /or 50 rounds or 3 and with a gun like the SAW you will know your low on ammo when its light as a feather to you xD

Humvee's aren't heavy assets therefore you can't steal it - if your squad wants the humvee then the squad should be near it.HellDuke wrote:Never seen this as a problem... Lots of people use Humvees or Landrover as a 1 man transport somewhere, other times the guys inside may be dead and the vehicle fine - ESPECIALLY with the landrover. Who knows how much ammo is left in? No One - excepting whoever was gunning it.
I agree there should be some way of telling.
