Standard Operating Procedures & Code of Conduct
1. Behaviour and Respect.
This server is intended for mature audiences; there is a fine, but clear line between an insult and a friendly nudge in the ribs taken well by both sides. Keep the language down, keep the respect for other players up. Racism and sexual innuendo specifically have a no tolerance policy. You can and will be kicked for excessive language in chat or any inappropriateness. That said, We're Here to Have Fun. We all come here because we want to have fun and not have to worry about smacktards blowing up our helicopters on the pads and running around teamkilling. We also don't want to have to worry about those who want to pick petty arguments in the chat and run around doing things for the express purpose of irritating or insulting somebody. That kind of thing won't be tolerated here, and you'll be kicked. If that's what you want to do, you can take it elsewhere.
2. Commanders' Word is Law
You must follow orders issued to you by the Commander or your Squad Leader, unless they conflict with the server rules. The Commander is the Commander for a reason; he has access to tools and information that you do not. If you continuously refuse to comply when you are able to an order, and are reported, you can and will be kicked.
3. Tactics and Realism vs. Fun and Gameplay
The name of the game is Project Reality. That said, it is a game. You, as a player, should constantly be trying to better yourselves and your squad and by improving your squad improving your team as a whole. This is a realism game, so we'll clearly define some rules of things that are not allowed as they are unrealistic instead of providing you a vague, blanket rule.
a. Firing from Helicopters
You are not allowed to fire a heavy weapon (specifically H-AT/L-AT or AA missile) from a helicopter. The backblast would cause damage to the helicopter and yourself in most cases, so this is not allowed. You may not drop C4 or mines in an attempt to damage enemy vehicles/troops from a helicopter, but you may drop C4 to destroy a bridge or other natural obstacle without dismounting the helicopter.
b. Firing from Vehicles
You may not fire a heavy weapon "through" the windshield of a vehicle (i.e. truck, car, etc.) If a rocket hits your windshield fired from the inside, you're probably going to explode in real life. Don't do this. Firing AA from the back seats of a transport truck into the air, i.e. at passing helicopters, is allowed.
c. Glitching
Do not use the game mechanics to your advantage. This is to say more than the obvious "Don't wallhack", but to say that exploiting any kind of "glitch" that can not also be mirrored in real life in some way. Doing something that is not an intended function of the device/deployable but may also be done in a similar fashion in real life (i.e. using barbed wire emplacements as sandbags in a hallway/to block a stairwell) is allowed. Sandbags could easily accomplish this purpose in real life, and that is what the emplacements mirror. That said, you are not allowed to crawl under emplacements and shoot out from under them – any emplacements where this is a possibility must be destroyed on sight. Bunnyhopping is a glitch - don't do it. Bunnyhopping is specifically defined as jumping repeatedly to avoid fire. Jumping over a clear obstacle even if under fire is fine, though.
d. Roadkills
You are not allowed to use a vehicle with the express purpose of getting roadkills. That said, you are allowed to hit people that are in the direction you are travelling and you may swerve to strike those of a threat to your vehicle (H-AT), but you may not roll around in a humvee running over helpless enemies for kicks. This is very gamey, unrealistic, and unfair to them. Simply put: Don't do it.
e. Suicide Attacks
Committing suicide intentionally to take enemies with you is not allowed with the exception of insurgent, Hamas, Taliban and other such radical, unconventional forces.
4. Main Base Rules
You are not allowed to fire into or out of a main base on Advance and Secure maps. On Insurgency maps, the main base may be fired into and out of, attacked with vehicle-borne IEDs, or attacked in any other way, but you may not use Area Attacks or AA missiles. You are not allowed to engage mosques with permanent spawn points, mirroring real-life Rules of Engagement held by coalition forces. You are not allowed to mine, block or set traps within 75 meters of the main entrance of any enemy main base, or use an armored/light vehicle to camp the main base (waiting for enemies to exit before firing on them) unless there is a cache in the immediate area. Do not fire on aircraft returning to base once they are inside the limits of the base (i.e. inside the HESCO)
5. Do Not Fire on Civilian Collaborators
Civilian Collaborators are civilians, and are to be treated as such. Anyone caught intentionally killing Civilians will be punished.
6. Single-Seating and Personal Transport
Do NOT crew a two-person vehicle such as a tank, APC, IFV, Cobra or other such vehicle without a second crewman present. You may not drive out of the main base to pick up your gunner, the vehicle must be crewed before leaving. You may crew an Anti-Aircraft Vehicle with one person. You may NOT use a logistics truck, transport truck, or scout car with the purpose of transporting only yourself to a destination.
7. Assets
Assets may only be assigned by a Commander; if one is not present anyone may take the asset providing it is fully crewed and used properly. That said, if someone has already created an asset squad and are able to effectively crew all assets available to them with the amount of people in the squad, please defer to them and allow them the assets.
8. Admins
Please respect Admins and their decisions. That said, admins will ALWAYS warn first, THEN kick. Bans are reserved for serious rule violations and will not be issued lightly. That said, bans are tiered and for set times and permanent bans are reserved for only the worst offenses. Punishment is situational. We do run battlerecorder - and we are watching you. Play nice, play fair, and you won't have an issue.
9. Squads
No one-man locked squads are allowed.
(Rules are subject to change)
