Falcon controller ... what is it?

I've seen post about these "Falcon" control inputs and Ive seen them in-game. What exactly are they? I've always wondered what they are/do.

Well. I don't have a Novint Falcon. This is what I see in my controls menu.

It was introduced in the 1.5 patch - they added compatibilty for the falcon and automatically puts a lot of secondary controls in for it.
