I was running PR maxed even on my old 8800GT.CommunistComma wrote:WTF kinda GPUs are people running?!
I've got a 9800GT, run stuff at medium, and have the draw distance at 90%. When I had it at 100 I'd get lag spikes every time I turn around.
Medium, 50-60 normally.

Re: [New for 2010!] Which level of graphics settings do you play?
Put a new GPU in yesterday (GTX 460 1GB) what I found was that PR performance is so dependant on CPU that it doesn't affect a damn thing. Difference between low and highest of high with AA enabled, and even going further and messing about with control panel settings, is a few percent at best. Still get dodgy performance, dipping as low as 30-40fps, no matter what.
Would scrapping the old CPU for 2 years ago really make all that difference or is PR a resource hog that's in dire need of a diet? Current CPU is an Intel Q6600 @ 3.2 GHz OC. RAM is plenty-full and not an issue.

How much RAM do you have? I noticed an increase in performance when I went from 2GB to 4GB.Spinkyone wrote:Put a new GPU in yesterday (GTX 460 1GB) what I found was that PR performance is so dependant on CPU that it doesn't affect a damn thing. Already have 4 GB. Memory usage is well within bounds as run a tight setup, not really an issue.Cobhris wrote:How much RAM do you have? I noticed an increase in performance when I went from 2GB to 4GB.
Just more the expense of upgrading a whole rig for the sake of PR when for other games, that are increasingly multi threaded, it is still a viable setup that performs quite well. Nearly every game I have performs better than PR on my PC now.

Well, I upgraded for BFBC2 and as a side effect ended up making a rig that runs every game I own smooth as silk. Only thing I can see needing an upgrade in the near future is my 5770.Spinkyone wrote:Already have 4 GB. Memory usage is well within bounds as run a tight setup, not really an issue.

Everything high, AA off, otherwise wouldn't get black-white effect when revived...

Everything on highest. Cant say FPS since it varies alot where on map I am and where I am looking.
It runs smooth though =)

Everything on low. (except one or two on medium)
It makes PR doable on my computer, but still it has a low fps.
Free money anyone?

I wish. If I had a million dollars I would buy a new one to you and me. I played on low for a long time, 2months ago I changed my Motherboard from an old to another old, actually the same model but a un-used one and I put a geforce6 256 DDR2 in it and gained alto of fps, now I play on medium/high wich is better but still on large maps it's not playable.TheAssProtectors.Nr1 wrote:Everything on low.
