When your PC die 2hr before PR....

i woke up this morning everything as usual... have a piss, light a smoke, press the power button of my computer.... start loading... BANG BSOD. WTF? 3 reboot later, still BSOD. Then i deicide to format... WORST error EVER. Now i'm not even capable of finish a windows instalation without seeing it crash.

BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER - every single time i try to install Vista.

I have test both of my GTX260-896, my CPU is obviously working, now i'm not sure if it can be Mother Board or HDD....

Anyone have an idea ?

Seeing you cannot even get into Windows, the best advice I can offer (someone might have a better idea though) would be to unplug all USB devices (leave mouse and keyboard) and retry the Windows installation. And if that does not work, update your motherboards bios.

I had this problem, but i soon found out that is was a peice of hardware that was sticking from its slot. Check to see if a stick of RAM (Memory) is out of place or your graphics card is out or something.

My keyboard and my mouse are USB.... Those are the only usb device pluged.. ill try to use my PS/2 mouse... And i dont know how to update BIOS =\

First thing i check, then the GPU, then the CPU.

The worst in that is, my PC blown ( short-circuit ) this summer, they replace GPU, MOBO, RAM, CPU FAN, DVD-RAM.... And now i got this, i just hope i will be able to fix it...

This is usually a device error - part of a memory dump for any of a variety of issues but usually a device driver or a cable error, in my experience.
We often see it in the early stages of an ATI graphics driver failure.
It usually has to do with the following: Memory error due to small memory defect in memory module or AGP video memory. Failure of device or device drive of one of these: Video, Audio, NIC, modem. Failure of IDE/EIDE/ATA cable as it hardens and shrinks from age. Device order error on IDE/EIDE/ATA cable where Cable Select is being used but the primary device is NOT on the end of the cable. (On cable select, master is at end, slave is in the middle.
Microsoft has its own theories. You can do a search of their knowledge base or try:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;314063. If that doesn't work quite right, search for 314063 in the knowledge base.
Also could be a registry corruption error.
The tricks. 1. Download and resinstall drivers for all devices. 2. Download Memtest86 and test your memory for about three hours of iterations. 3. Check all your IDE/EIDE/ATA cables. If you have an ATA drive that is on an old style cable, change to ATA cable with 80 conductor - 40 connector.
Also a common error when someone upgrades to Windows 2000 or Windows XP from an earlier OS. Only fix in this case is to do a clean install on a formatted disk.
Registry error problems can be fixed by restarting in Safe Mode (pressing the F8 key) at least three or four times. This will fix errors in your registry that will get rid of a lot of such problems.

CPU temp is 40?C so its ok' now im testing my ram... i remove half of it and try to instal. Thank God i have a laptop powerfull enought to ran PR while the place i buy my pc fix it ( now i just hope i'm still on warranty ).

Had the same Problem a few weeks ago, disabling USB in the bios solved a clean installation. Then you can download new usb drivers and enable it again.

Had a problem once where my PC started having weird different BSODs. Even after a reformat it still had them. Tried using my second DVD drive to install Windows and it helped.

Yup, seems to work, i remove my CORSAIR and i manage to made it to the desktop... Thanks for you're help, now ill do all my update/svc pk/etc... and put my corsair back in to see if it will work. If it dont, well we are the 15th, i'm in the C.F. so i just got my pay check, so ill buy 8G of ram

I just finished moving my rig's guts into a new chassis with better cooling last night so I could play PR without having to worry. Ya, I taunt murphy like that. (actually I did it for EVE online so I could plug in my old vid card as well and not only run three accounts like I always do but fraps on one of them as well).
