[Solved] Can't see any servers

Post by Michaelp800 »

Good evening

I try to say it in english.

Very often it happens, I don't see any servers, if I want to play PR 0.957. After some restarts of the game, mostly 5 - 20 times, I can see all the servers suddenly.

I have opened all ports for Battlefield 2, GameSpy Arcade and Punk Buster. Sometimes I see servers, and sometimes not. It happens also, if I refresh the server list. I can't see any servers!

I also cleaned the registry with TuneUp Utilities. But I don't know, why I can't see servers... and then, some restarts later I can see them. I have no firewall and no connection problems and I have opened all ports.

Can you help me?

Best regards
Michael

//EDIT
Now I have reinstalled PR 0.957 and PunkBuster! The same problem! Help pls. :D

This should be in BF2 support.
You probably have BF2 blocked on your firewall or something, which isnt allowing you to connect. Is your BF2 server list working?

Did you hit "update list"? If so I bet your fierwall is to blame as Comma has stated.
Oh and if you have Vista make sure you run PR as an admin.

I play BF2 with PR since several years. I know, how to play online. As I said, I've opened all ports (router) and use no firewall.

Yesterday it suddenly works again!! I don't know, what's going on. :|

I don't know what to do. It still doesn't work!

I've reinstalled BF 2 + Patches. Then I've reinstalled PR. I checked all ports... I have opened all required ports for BF2, PunkBuster and GameSpy. But I still can't see any servers of PR.
In the standard BF2 I can see some servers, but all with ping 0. I can't join a multiplayer game ('connection problem'). But other online games work perfectly!

Do you think, it's a GameSpy-Problem? Do you also have problems like that?

I wanna play PR! :?

Re: Can't see any servers (now it works!)

Yeah! Now it works!

My solution:

-Removed BF2, PunkBuster Services and PR (there still were registry entries from PR 7.5 and a lot more)
-Removed install folders manually (BF2 folder still exists)
-Removed all BF2 registry entries manually with regedit
-Cleaned and defragmented Windows and hard disc with TuneUp Utilities
-Restarted computer
-Installed BF2
-Restarted computer
-Installed Patches (1.41, 1.50)
-Updated PunkBuster
-Started BF2
-Installed PR 0.957
-Started PR and configured all settings
-Cleaned Registry with TuneUp Utilities
-Restarted computer
-Play PR! Works perfectly and really speeded up!!

YEAH! :razz:

Best regards

Check if it happens in other online games aswell to find out if its a Game problem or internet problem.

The problem is solved. The topic can be closed.

@Server Problem:
I opened my own IP address in the router. So all applications can go in and out.

@My VOIP Problem:
The stupid reason for the problem:

In the Windows audio settings the headset was not selected as the standard sound recording device. :roll:
