Old Map Name
Does anyone remember an old map that was in an oilfield? It was a giant open desert with an oil refinery or 2 across the map. I think it was US and MEC, not sure. I'm just trying to reminisce, and can't remember. I think it was .8, or maybe .7.

Yes it was Al Kufrah, so much nostalgia....I think it was the first map I had ever played on and when I spawned in I spent 20 minutes trying to revive a dead-dead person with resuscitate.

i miss mestia, that was the map where i mastered squad leading. i remember one time i lead my brit squad on foot all the way behind the east tower/bunker and flanked out the enemy there 5 minutes into the game. Commander was very very impressed.
Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

Ha yeah Al Kufrah was a great map, BMP vs Bradley fights, and the loading music..Miss it. Mestia was a great map too, for ambushes with LAT that was perfect.
Btw, was this map mullet? :

I always look at terrain near my house and think "what if my neighborhood was a PR map?"
I've actually been considering taking pictures of and mapping a 4kmx4km section of my city.

Re: Old Map Name
I hated it with a passion. I don't remember if I've ever had an APC take me anywhere there. Always had to walk through through pretty much open desert hoping we wouldn't run into a tank, which is what happened most of the time.
It gave me the feeling that somehow, H-AT was never enough, friendly armor was never where I needed it and enemy armor was always where I needed to go.
I also think the flag placement and design was a bit whack, because if MEC capped the last flag, there was no way in hell the US, and later Brits, would ever cap it back. Same thing applied to MEC.
The ticket bleed, if any, was really slow too meaning that the game really dragged on without any real point.

You know alot of these removed maps, I kept because they had singleplayer support thanks to the old PRSP, when it wasn't incorperated into PR. Still very fun to play with bots.
