Will be nice to see this vehicle as LAV-25 Marine heavy land APC.
ASLAV-PC will be nice as light APC,and ASLAV-25 as heavy APC.

Pintle mount moved on top of the aslav-25 opened a hatch for it also, Im not sure if I opened the commanders or the gunners hatch though (?)
Added back suspension struts also.

As for the aslav-pc I added the base-mount for the RWS. I fleshed out some of the RWS model but its not accurate/finished as of now. Quick wip of it. Scale is also off.

But yeah still working on these slowly, just trying to make sure everything is correct/accurate before I unwrap again. Still got a few things to go over.

You opened the commanders hatch, which is pretty realistic as you often see them poking out the top viewing the surrounding area with binoculars or whatnot, plus its a pretty cool touch. However, its going against current iterations of the LAV (USMC, Canucks) which don't feature the mounted M240.

Basically, if the developers give the thumbs up to the pintle mounted MAG58, leave it open, if they don't, then keep it closed.

As evidenced in this pic you also seemed to miss a periscope on the right hand side of the commander's hatch. There is also an achor point (O ring) just above the spent casing ejection port, near the commanders' optics.

I'm also not sure if you can spare the tris or whatever they are, but the cover for the commanders/gunners optics is that steel flipping thing, not the eyelids like you currently have also shown in the above pic.

There is also ANOTHER periscope on the left hand side of the gunner's hatch, I think so its he can communicate with the driver on what obstacles there are to the left of the vehicle. (pictured here, near the hanging helmet)

Yeah, its annoying that bf2 only allows 8 in the vehicle -> the 6th guy in a inf squad riding inside would be in the commanders seat. But yeah, if the open top version is needed/wanted its there.

Will look into these, thanks.

Also for the ACV static is the command vehicle should be the ASLAV-PC (any changes needed, apart from removing the RWS?)

looking really nice Tim as always, although the hatch in the bottom right of this pic seem to lack smoothing groups and the handle bar things on the left side also seem like they could use some smoothing?

Other than that, love it :D

When this is done and textured you may also want to consider making a USMC version as well, which looks almost the same except for a few key differences (glass+steel cupola like up-armored humvees around the commanders' hatch, removed side storage bins)

- Added the missing periscopes/view-ports
- Added 'o' ring.

@Rhino, smoothing groups were done (mostly) just forgot to reapply a of them in the previous renders. They are all looking ok though.

So yeah, got a day off work tomorrow and I am going to try and finish the model. Its still on the verge of 9k so I cant really add anything more, optimized what detail is already on there. Only things I can think of reworking the suspension struts (under the vehicle)mostly into triangles (Already did it on a few pretty hidden bits) to save on some tris, but really I think the model is done apart from the wheels. I plan to re-do the wheels as t hey seem pretty wrong. Shame BF2's tri limits are so low, I would have loved to kitted the thing out with loads of bags and equipment on the racks :(

Then, hopefully I can begin UV'ing it.

Oh yeah, keep pointing out any inaccuracies now if anyone can spot any so I can fix them. Cant really afford to add anything more, just fix what is wrong.

if you need a quick cut in tris, see if covering an item with a tarp will work. often aslavs on operation have tarps, camo netting or pelican cases to stow gear or cover kit up. any image search should give you some references.

You're definitely going to have to free up some tris because you've also missed the propellers that are on the rear-sides, and are on every ASLAV variant. Without them, it wouldn't be amphibious. This is probably why the DICE model was so ****, since there is so much detail to be done.

Image

On the PC, you could remove a couple of the water jerries and the spare tyre on top, although they add to the realism side of things they aren't completely necessary.

not if he puts the prop jackets over them, like they did in iraq.(prop jackets are small protective bags that go over the props to protect them and people .)

Yeah thats a good idea, but in the long run its going to need them for realism purposes, especially if a version is developed for the Marines.

I will put in the propeller and its guard. I should be able to free up enough tris when I rework the wheels. I am kind of juggling assets for 3 mods with now so this may have to get pushed back past xmas, although I do have 2 days off work tomorrow so who knows :)

- Added props and rudders
- Added Co-ax MG
- Tweaked parts of the chassis.

Need to do
- fix smoothing error (as seen)
- Add in prop cage/guard.
- Finish commander viewport on the side of the turret
- Remake wheels.

good work mate... making my model look not half bad lol :P good work keep it up...

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth
