Weird black spots on the terrain

Hello everybody, I just got my copy of Battlefield 2 (specially for PR ; ) and meanwhile I was downloading Patch 1.41 for my BF2, I decide to try out the retail Battlefield 2. So I set the graphics setting to the max, Anti-aliasing x8, blablabla..

And when I start the game, I notice weird black spots on the terrain, which disappear and appear as soon as I move, and they disappear in the radius of about 50m from me. I take a screenshot of this "anomaly" and you can see it here:

and as you can notice, the black spots are placed randomly on the terrain, I have tried to set Med settings for shadows (didn't worked), put Anti-Aliasing to x4 (Didn't worked), set Dynamic lighting to Med (as you can suppose, that also didn't worked) and as I remember I have also tried to set some other settings to Med but that also didn't worked..

alright, so have you guys got any suggestion's for me ?



PS. Is that alright if I install 1.41 patch straight from 1.04 (I think) version of the BF2 ? (I just have read the manual how to install PR and that's what it says..)

You have an ATI card? Enable Catalyst AI in Catalyst Control Center.

If that doesn't help, install an earlier version of CCC.



Make sure to patch BF2 to 1.5, once you've installed 1.41. And after all that's done, install PR.

That didn't worked, can you help me which version of CCC should I get ?

I have found on other forum that someone got same problem as me, and it began to appear as soon as he install 11.5 CCC Driver, but when he reveres it back to 11.3 it work alright again. So I will try that

Changing drivers didn't worked, so I did my own way. I set graphics setting to the lowest, I check if spots appear (They did not) and I was one by one, putting the Settings to highest, and when I get to the Terrain Detail and I set it to max, spots did appear, same on Medium. So I put it on lowest, and everything else on highest and it works great !
but still.. shame that I can't run it on all highest

11.3 usually works the best. Double check Catalyst AI is enabled. Almost always the prob.
