The public game is not that satisfying as it was before for me. When I play public, then only with friends, otherwise I enjoy PR in competitive level. PRT - that is the best PR experience what I had. :(

On public there is to much people who are doing there on thing or are just new to the game and are grabbing everything what they can and making the match not enjoyable, because they fail and again and again... And you are getting angry on rest of the team, because they are useless pretty much. :(

If there would be a straight direction for new guys to go to training, not filing servers, but learn stuff on trainings, that would be awesome. ;)

hmmm well as a person who hasn't had a 'meh' round in years I can say this: Lead your own squad. I don't like joining someone else's squad unless I know and trust the SL, because otherwise it will be a **** round.

Here is such an example, don't bother watching it all since it's over an hour long, but IMO it's a good example of how teamwork can bring about an effective game. I didn't set any of this up, I didn't join a favourite server or operate with a clan, just a random game I recorded:

That is a very good suggestion! My last round was SL and it was awesome. Working with CAS through Mumble (I do want mumble SL's next to me to make it fun tho) and deciding what to do and when. Think I'm going to go SL more often for a while :)

Its not as accessible as before but its still a good mod, its less of a jump on and mosy around with a few people, you've gotta do your home work and find some groups of people whether they be Clans or fully fledged communities.

if your up for some small time fun make a small clan of around twenty players for Arma 2 PR, I wont be doing that till mod release, I find that alot of people dont want to be in a massive Clan of over 100 people so im aiming for a small clan which will fill in a role in the new mod.

the world is your oyster, and I find that more applicable to the increasing communities in both mods where there are literally hundreds of new players looking to be scooped up and trained on how to play the game, and are likely to be better than the veterans such as me as they have no experience of the old versions :)

Yes but that 1 round of fun and realism in PR is enough for me

I first started playing FPS a few years ago on purely jump in and play basis such as counter strike, call of duty etc. but after a while I started getting bored of the repetitive gameplay that used little skill and no brains at all. I then started looking for more realistic games which added thought and unpredictability which led me eventually to PR. I am relatively new to this game and the community but so far I haven't had a noticeably bad experience in PR, sure there are new players that don't really understand but it helps grow the community; just help them by being a leader. When I was new a couple weeks ago sure I messed up a bit and pissed people off but they also taught me which helped become a better player for the team.

PR isn't a game where you sit in the back complaining and watch things turn to ****, it is a game where you let go of the horns and punch the bull in the snout for total victory. Most if not all people have good intentions when playing this game, they just need guidance.

v0.96 was released near the end of the month and its only 300 more players from the month before, which the month before that had around about the same amount of players so can't really count that much as a "flux of brand new players", its more like attracting old PR players who have taken a brake from PR back to PR.

1st off anyone who watches HOBNOB's video needs to be shot.

2nd... I am always hearing how the dev's have found another way to make the game less fun.
EX> take away medic ability to self heal.

It all depends how you look at it.
I figure its all free, and if they are willing to listen to the forums and post daily why not encourage them to continue.

This depends on how you look at the situation... are you the one perpetrating skilled engagements of the enemy only to have the entire squad get up or are you on the receiving end where you are not defending a key asset (the medic) from the enemy.

Personally I'm tired of "tired" people who have no patience and pick on everything going on in the game like... omg you lost the Cobra already? make some f-ing fobs.... the list goes on. Every time i have to spend time listening or reading hate comments really bothers me since it is a game about teamwork people should be helping each-other instead of policing as if anyone with experience is admins.

The world isn't perfect and I never expected that everyone is playing as angels, but it does seems like that the older the game becomes and the bigger the gab gets between experienced players and new players the shorter the fuse on there temper gets.

I still have a lot of fun in PR because i quickly figure out which players and servers to avoid.

as long as the noobs keep showing up and asking for directions this MOD isnt going down..... and many servers are half full of beginners or average players as far as i can tell.
Bro, it's summer, the kids are out of school, and the only "game" they played all school year long was COD and Battlefield BC2(for consoles)

Some people are just too immature and don't have the patience for PR.

Sorry for double post but you truly are a person with no patience and a refusing person to SEARCH. If you would READ, then you would know the self medic was not intentional, it was a bug, but then the DEV's let it "slip through" since they believed it was fixed. When it was discovered it wasn't, it became a feature. I welcome it. How many times do you see a medic healing himself in real life "OOOPS I GOT SHOT IN MY LEG LET ME JUST WRAP A BANDAGE ON IT BY MYSELF WHILE BULLETS ARE WHIZZING BY"

No. Just no. Either get some patience, and stop complaining, or go back to whatever game you came from. Sorry to be harsh, but in a situation with a person acting like this, insulting people who watch Hob's one hour long video(I only get 15 mins BOO) Which is good, then you truly are braindead.

Maybe if you played with friends that you know, it'd be a different story.

If I fancy a tactitroll game with friends, I'll jump on PR. If I fancy playing as a lone-wolf, I'll jump on FH2, not that I don't play FH2 with friends...

not necessarily maverick it just means they enjoy different things, it has nothing to do with maturity as to whether he enjoys the game, the issue here is how he handles himself which is to just shout "tired of this ****..." which is an immature thing.

but as far as playing the game is concerned he just has different tastes.

I only play PR with friends I know.

If non of my friends are online and want to play PR, I choose to play something else.

PR is a great mod and I have a lot of fun when playing it with friends, but it's so focused on teamplay that it can get boring if you don't know the people you are playing with.

A teamplay-heavy game as PR have it's pros and cons.

It's a shame that the teamplay is only within squads, and never within the entire team.

its the community which are teamplay heavy not the mod, the mod pushes in that direction but the community are the ones who are teamplay heavy.

you can play on the xbox and still be teamplay heavy. you just have to be apart of the right groups. I play alot of red dead on the xbox as me and my mates thoroughly enjoy it, and we still have teamplay as a part of the gameplay so that we can wipe out other gangs quicker.

I'm tired of this too - players just complaining in a non-constructive manner

don't like PR? Don't play it, no hard feelings - I don't want to play with frustrated people.

Any team I join that goes "teams stacked, we can't win" needs to change its attitude, get on with it, change your tactics.

Its like public announcements get ignored....

you have the tools, make it happen - like myself and dozens of other squad leaders do every time we play

PR is not COD, and it is not FH2, its a demanding game that requires patience and communication.

This

I played with a guy a couple of days ago who constantly was telling the rest of the squad how tired he was of PR. The worst part about it: He was the SL! I mean why the f... join a game that you find boring and then drag 5 other people down with you as soon as something goes wrong.
Funny thing about it is that he thought of himself as a leet player and started to kick people who made some mistakes everyone could have made while he was still ranting about the game. At the end we all left the squad, which I'd find very very amussing.

I don't mind people letting their frustrations have an outlet on the forums but stay the hell away from me in game.

There's plenty of ways to affect that. Be a commander for example

Edit: And mumble servers usually have teamwork between the whole team as well
