Pr gradually starts to lag more and more

Post by Bumgie »

I got win 7 32 bit.
4gigs ram
core 2 duo e8500 @3.16GHz
Ati radeon HD 4800 with 512 mb.

I patched pr to 0.973 and after that i have to restart the game after 1 or 2 maps because the lag gets unbearable. After restart everything runs smoothly again for awhile.
Any idea whats causing this?

Strangely enough I get this if I have xfire on, if I turn xfire off before I play I don't have this issue

Ima test this out, because yesterday on Yamalia(it looks like the easiest map to run next to Kashan, and my FPS is normally around 30-45, doesn't go up more, so I get some stutter, but then after a few mins, BAM I'm smack dab in the 15 and will NEVER go up :( I will try this I surely hope it works, but I thought running in compatibility mode helps with crashes?

not on win7, vista it might for some, it might not for some.
when i used vista and ran in comp mode, it gave extra FPS, and less crashes, without it it was crashes galore.

on win7 for it causes ram leaks, and i go 15fps after half an hour of playing, other people arent able to load any map, while for some it crashes on intensive maps, like burning sands, or it might not do anything, either way its best to have it off for BF2, since it can only cause frustration.

im talking for 32bit systems, i have no idea how it effects 64bit, or whether it does at all

on 64 bit.. the problem is even worse. Users playing on Linux generally have a better frame rate than us Win 7 64 bit users. ;)
