this is a team game, no matter how awesome you are, you need friends to complete the objective :P
Remember Rudd, it's a game. Lone-wolfing can be a lot of fun, especially if you just played a round with a lot of teamwork.

.50 headshot = dead-dead.
Mark-19 (AAVP-7) = dead-dead.
30mm (MTLB/LAV/etc.) = dead-dead.
HEAT/MPAT shell = dead-dead.

These are four weapons I know will kill you for sure.

Just drop C4 under their body and wait for the medic to come. :)

4 words, "BADGER CHECK.........BADGER COLD!!!" IRL we take priority in making sure the guys we kill are really dead. this applies for ALL. there are only a few things more devastating to a team in combat than a guy behind them they thought was dead.

the same applies in game, medics could be hiding anywhere waiting for you to round the corner and leave the man unguarded.
DenvH wrote:I think it goes against the Geneva Conventions to kill a soldier that's sick or wounded, same goes for killing civilians and prisoners of war.

Besides that, it's better to leave him wounded and have him call his buddies for help. When they show up you pin them down in an ambush and you now neutralised the full squad..

Maybe the option to kill should be there but with minus points for violating the rules, much like shooting a civilian.
though this may be true, it has been to our experience that people do play dead. as such we stick a hot rifle barrel in their eyes to make sure, if they twitch, we shoot. Yes if the man is wounded and no longer of threat, we save them. however if they are still armed and possibly have explosives strapped to them, well we cant afford to be so merciful.

Every one says well you can just wait around to kill them but if you do that you loose your momentum. Momentum=Victory. You cant just wait around for that squad your squad just killed to give up because they can be reinforced they could call down mortars etc , And you cant move on either because then you could get surrounded by the squad you just killed because they got revived. While you are waiting on the dead squad to get your kills you could be assaulting the objective to win the game so the not being able to dead dead people is a bit counter productive.

personally I think it would be a lot better for gameplay if enemies can be killed as opposed to wounded every single time they're shot with a rifle, effectively if you've even been shot in your foot you're out of the action and there's a growing instance of 5 out of 6 guys dead in a squad all being quickly revived by a medic as if they don't still have lead in their brain.

the majority of the time if you're shot whilest in cover your body will drop and wont be exposed to enemy fire so a medic revive is plausible-ish.
I've just never liked seeing several people mowed down by a machine gun to only be revived a few seconds later.

I like the idea of an added bit of fear when moving across the open instead of such reliance on the medic.

It is very frustrating to kill 5 enemies in a squad and then take the ground only to have to fall back knowing that you have accomplished nothing because the medic will come out of hiding or the next enemy squad in will revive them all.

Also means maps like Muttrah can be very interesting for the above reason, you have to hold territory for at least 5 minutes or the enemy may double in size when you pull out.. Not sure if that's for better or worse.

Guys the main difference between ArmA and BF2 PR (as PR:ArmA 2 has this so called "mercy-shot) is the size and the speed of the battles. ArmA is MUCH slower, while BF2 PR is very frantic and firefights tend to end up quiet chaotic. If you had the possibility to kill downed soldiers, the medic as "reviver" would become redundant, because 99% of the people will get killed in the mess kindly described as FF in PR.

And then rant posts would pop up everywhere on the forums, complaining how fast you die and how the medics have become a rarity.

Think about it PR:BF2 is way too arcady and intricated to simulate this kind of action.

And please don't forget, every wounded soldier costs tickets, so no, its not worthless it just wont show on your scoreboard how "leet" you are (thats why I'm for the removal of the in-game scoretab).

second your point about the scoreboard, it's an unwelcome exploit and distraction from the actual objective.

While I do agree with what brain is saying there should be a way to kill downed soldiers after the firefight is over so you don't need to wait around for them to give up.

i find it rare for bodies to be hit again unless they were taking a full burst of fire, in which case they "SHOULD" be dead any how.

however to combat such situations as simply laying HE fire into a field from an APC or chopper to kill off the wounded. afterall that WOULD be a violation of international laws and regulations. we could always limit it so that only a knife/handcuff will inflict damage. This can simulate both a badger check to finish off a combatant and/or giving first aid to then arresting the individual.

What if only the medic had that ability, and he got points for using the epipen for such a purpose?

Just give dead people hitpoints so they can be shot dead dead.
This would partially solve the greatest problem in PR, lack of fear of death.

But just give hitpoints to the chest and head, not legs and arms becoase often they are sticking out of a wall when someones body is colliding with it.

This would also make people use cover more. When you get wounded, you fall behind cover and cant get shot dead dead.

"But, but international treaties!?!"
Nah, I seen videos of ISAF guys executing insurgents. And in case of major war(WW3) like MEC vs US, no one would care about any treaties. Atomic, chemical and biological ftw!

The score and kills can show who teamkilled, baseraped, civvie kills with a negative score. Ex: The only evidence of wasting an aircraft is the -score.

There is battle recorder, also when there are full squad of people whining about asset waster it is propably enough evidence for kick/ban.
