Where is everyone? LOL
Servers have been dead lately other than =]H[= ... where are all the players?
Is the BF3 beta drawing everyone away or is it just me?

Yesterday at 8pm GMT there were 6 full servers 64/64 so your argument is valid only for your time zone.

Would be my guess. Or PR:ArmA...n00bsauce wrote:Is the BF3 beta drawing everyone away or is it just me?
I really only look forward to playing PR on the weekends now because you know you'll have a few servers to pick from then.

Not PR:ARMA2, that's suffering more than PR:BF2 according to this thread: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f440-p ... ybody.htmlDesmoLocke wrote:Would be my guess. Or PR:ArmA...
the BF3 beta has hit player counts pretty hard but I can't see BF3 replacing PR completely for most of our player base as it doesn't offer anything like the same experience. As such, I predict in time most of the players currently playing BF3 will come back to PR after playing a bit of BF3 and might decide to play both games on and off as well
But ye, its mainly the Australian time zone that's suffering at the moment, EU and NA is still going strong.
I would recommend to the Aus community to look into setting up some events to get everyone on at the same time

Its been tried over the past few years, numbers have just dropped due to lack of interest which nobody can be blamed for.I would recommend to the Aus community to look into setting up some events to get everyone on at the same time
Gradually new players are joining, but a decreasing rate since knowledge of PR's existence is fairly low, or those who do know it don't like it.

Agree. Once its realeased its probably gonna be a good game with big open maps like Caspian border, but right now playing that horrible Metro map is sickening.saXoni wrote:I don't understand how Project Reality players can play the Battlefield 3 Beta...

Its fun! And its easy fun! Where PR can be fun if all the things are right. Everyone knows that out of X number of PR games only so few are truly EPIC and PR like.
For me, I have little time to play, probably up until january. I hop on the BF3 beta, and probably BF3 once its out, more than PR because for me, its an easy shot of fun. In the spare moments I have to launch a game I can play BF3. Where in PR you need at least 2 hours to have some good PR like fun.

By not being so close-minded that PR is the only game one can play in the FPS genre, which is something people who say 'omg PR killed everything else for me' fail to comprehend.saXoni wrote:I don't understand how Project Reality players can play the Battlefield 3 Beta...
The BF3 beta couldn't be taking that many players away, we'll see how re-populated servers get once the weekend is over.

I based what I said on my own knowledge. Almost every PR player I know, hate other FPS games. That's why I can't see why they would play the Battlefield 3 Beta.
I do agree with you, Dtacs. The BF3 Beta couldn't have taken away that many PR-players.
In fact, it looks like the servers are getting populated again. Last night there were 6 full servers.

I'm already done with BF3, Metro is awful and Caspian Border feels like Bad Company 2 on a larger map. To me it feels nothing like a successor to BF2 but more of a successor to BF:BC2. Cancelled my pre-order and I'm back to playing BF2 and Project Reality.TeRR0R wrote:Most will come back after the hype about a new title is over.

Do you really get the money (60?) back on your account when cancelling the pre-order???Culgan wrote:I'm already done with BF3, Metro is awful and Caspian Border feels like Bad Company 2 on a larger map. Yeah, of course the number of players has decreased atm and you can no longer expect to find several full servers at any given time. So there are few people online and because there are few people online more people start to stay away. I am playing the ARMA2 campaign right now.dtacs wrote:Its been tried over the past few years, numbers have just dropped due to lack of interest which nobody can be blamed for.

BUT those who are STILL edging for a round of PR are those who have their mumble setup, can fly the huey upside down and deliver mortarfire quicklike and I am sure thats more then 64 players.
Its just a matter of getting everyone online at the same time and yes, events will do that. TG had an event a week back, it was a full server and full mumble. This saturday there is gonna be a scrim, but signups closed even for reserve players on the same day
