"Problem with your connection" every 10 secs

Post by firstroundko108 »

As soon as I deploy, I get the "there is a problem with your connection" message every 10 seconds and everything freezes. I have 15MBPS speed and my ping is about 50 in-game, but it spikes when the connection problem occurs.

Win 7
i5 2500k 3.3 GHZ
8GB DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6900

Using a Belkin N750 USB Wireless Adapter through a Linksys Cisco router with "excellent" connection. Never have any problems with downloads or speeds in general.

Thanks :D

What is CPL? I googled it and couldn't find much about it. Seems that it is not something used in the USA?

You might need to open ports required for BF2.

Application: BF21 External port: 29900 Internal port: 29900 Protocol: TCP

Application: BF22 External port: 29901 Internal port: 29901 Protocol: TCP

Application: BF23 External port: 29920 Internal port: 29920 Protocol: TCP

Try with ethernet [cable to the router] to make sure it's not the Wifi causing the issues before you worry about forwarding all kinds of obscure ports :p .

So I changed my router settings to DMZ for this computer and it's working. I didn't have enough spaces to open all those ports for BF2 in my router settings so that was the only thing I could think of.

New problem is that Mumble just constantly connects and disconnects but never works.

New problem is that Mumble just constantly connects and disconnects but never works.

You need to either turn off QoS in PRmumble settings, or turn on or off QoS in your router settings.

It is not safe to put your PC ina DMZ< it will be attacked and probably infected within an hour.

Thanks LITO, so far nothing bad has happened. And I never realized the PR install doesn't give you the latest Mumble so I just found out I needed the 1.0 beta.

So, for opening the ports, my router has 12 spaces where I can manually type in the information, but there are more than 12 ports listed above. I'm not sure what to do and buying a brand new router just to play PR seems a little much :(

Any more suggestions?

Thanks, I'm guessing the problem was with my router because I ruled everything else out. Just got a new router and about to test the game :)

Everything works great now, so it must have been the shitty router all along.

Good to hear it's sorted, even if it cost a few quid,

If you come back to read this topic, please tell us the make and model of the old router, just so we have it for future reference,

thanks,
