Re: No more bird watching?
no doubt, we're on OMG forum level alert...
Just wait and see, so far in Falklands, Vietnam and Normandy with no binocs or optics wasn't so bad.
I agree that it will certainly improve gameplay and teamwork. At least maybe noob medics will stop getting in the middle to "see" with their binocs because they don't have scopes.
As for the "I don't know if it's just a pixel or a dude moving"... maybe it'll finally force people into calling out targets BEFORE shooting at them like crazy, and as said before, it'll give more importance to the SL, as seen on Falklands, who have to spot and correct the shots of his squad.

Well at least now your squad members will stop standing with binos looking at the enemy tank hahahahaahahahahaha makes me laugh just thinking about itsaXoni wrote:I have played Falkands, Vietnam and Normandy, but no I don't know that it creates a better gameplay; this is just an opinion you have. My opinion is that binoculars should stay because I don't think it will bring any good to the mod, and definitely not improve the gameplay.

It will require a change in behavior, some of us have made it already. Instead of just going "enemy spotted, SW, 270!" it'll be something like "enemy spotted SW, atop the ridge to the left of the rocky outcrop!"
Vietnam is a better test of it than Falklands since it has more standard view distances, but just try and worth with it

Re: No more bird watching?
You're also forgetting that in Falklands, or Normandy, there is no 4x optics on your primary weapon. Which still can see quite a distance, and if you need to check to see if your target is not friendly, check your maps, think of the map as a blufor tracker.

Forgot you always play air sorry and that you only play in clan squad where every action is monitored.saXoni wrote:Fixed it for you.
Most of the times it's easier to spot enemies without binos because of the draw distance of some objects, I.E. trees.Delfer wrote:No Bino's increases immersion for me so I like it.
I don't care about the realism of it, because playing PR does not look or feel like real life(I don't know how to explain that) and I can still spot enemies from across the view distance with or without bino's. (It's not nearly as bad as Arma)

Just one thing.... What's in stead of binoes then? I mean, now most people have room for one other thing in their kit?

Re: No more bird watching?
Binoculars are a must for any kit without magnification scopes why well answer is simple in PR BF2 everything past 200m is the size of a pixel and looks exactly the same.

Look at your map and if it's not friendly then shoot. Or ask your SL/someone with scope/binocs.tankninja1 wrote:Binoculars are a must for any kit without magnification scopes why well answer is simple in PR BF2 everything past 200m is the size of a pixel and looks exactly the same.
Oh, you're not with your squad playing solo? Oops.

So now BluFor has even BIGGER advantage in that they can actually see further.
Make INS more broken, why not?

Still as I said it will bring teamwork and group/squad cohesion, like Heureux said, well less friendly but anyway. You'll be ough to check the map frequently which is really frustrating that some does not at this point and some just ignorant and starts firing on unknown targets. Also about the pixel, it depends on what options your video is set I believe.
Like already mentioned, Falklands is kind of hard comparison compared to Vietnam or Normandy.
Oh and Heureux you might wanna address people nicely or formulate more neat and clean, or this thread will turn into something ugly.
Comrade - 4x is the default ACOG optic magnification that is set on weapons. Which means PR has ACOG with 4x zoom, it's just that you don't notice it so much due to you get used to it after 2 minutes in the game.

Sorry it's just that I was kind of pissed off at people FEARING change and not wanting to test it. Or people exagerating.CopyCat wrote:Still as I said it will bring teamwork and group/squad cohesion, like Heureux said, well less friendly but anyway. What makes you think unconventionals are losing their binos?ComradeHX wrote:Insurgency...

Re: No more bird watching?
That remembers me of the old rally point nerf discussion.
Everyone said it will ruin the game and does any one complain about it now? No, because everyone got used to it!
It will be the same for the binocs.

What makes you think BluFor would have no binos but unconventional forces will have binos?CroCop wrote:What makes you think unconventionals are losing their binos?
That would really make no sense because if taking away binos from most squadmembers of BluFor is encouraging teamwork; then letting unconventional forces keep binos would equal to discouraging teamwork, which is already a little lacking in INS.
