Falklands is really bad for crashing servers/players all the time - a great way to empty servers. There's also the problem of not all people having the mods installed which makes things worse.

Wait for the bugs to be ironed out and the content rolled into v1.0 I say, then we'll get to see what's good, or not.

Bullshit. Every time I hop on Falklands Co-op or regular, I NEVER crash. And if people don't have the mod installed, that's their fault. They should stop being lazy and download it.

Right, I think servers with regular maps only crash often enough....without these new maps.
Doesn't make any difference to me.

Well the falklands map I can understand. I mean it's an 8KM map, that is a massive culture shock and there isn't enough vehicles (at least that I noticed from when I played) to accommodate a map of that size. No tanks, little IFVs, not a lot of supply trucks, that kind of thing. If it wants to be a map put into normal rotations, it needs tweaked quite a bit. Also, the night version of Falklands...... whoa....

While yes, the map is 8km by 8kms, technically 16km by 16kms if you include the airbase/carrier, the ground combat is focused into a 3kms by 2kms area, which is around the same as most 4x4km maps. As such from a ground forces POV, its not that much different.

The "lack of vehicles" is based on what was available during the war, that isn't going to change without it not being based on the 1982 war. There are quite a few choppers for the Brits to hitch a ride on, just needs more people to fly them and the Argentines have a lot more ground transport vehicles, as well as a few choppers. But tbh, walking isn't that bad if you try it. You can get to a flag pretty quickly by walking and while yes, its slower phased than normal PR maps if you just walk everywhere, you will find that its a nice change in phase from the regular PR maps.

From the feedback I've got from most people who have given the map a real go, including 40mmRain who totally changed his mind about the map from it being totally shit to totally awesome after giving it a fair try, the amount of ground vehicles etc isn't a problem if you just adapt to the new layout.

The big problem with the map is simply crashes, but so far, still haven't had any real responses from server admins to any crash reports on the Falklands and still not got that much to go on from player crash reports either but mainly need server ones.

I love all the DLC's and would love to see servers put them into normal map rotation. Funny thing is, everytime some DLC gets announced, the PR Community goes all crazy about it. Hundreds of users say how awesome it will be, and how much they gonna pwn on those maps. Then it gets released, people play it, tell on the feedback forums that it is really good and then are just like: Ok that was pretty awesome, now lets get back to Muttrah.

I just don't get those players. Thats just hypocritical. And it seems that 90% of the people on here got that attitude. QRF seeds server every sunday, and everytime we vote for a DLC map, it gets rejected big time. Its beyond me why PR players play Muttrah/Kashan/Fallujha 24/7, while there are so many more fun maps to play.

They go for the most hyped/actual thing. Be it a new release of any minimods, map test, full release or just simply stick to 24/7 server, possibly with Muttrah on.

You could try pitching this to the communities whom run the servers. I for one am not here to play mini mods.

Well SGT.Ice then stick to BF2 Vanilla, since PR started as a mini mod aswell. Lets hope those map will be played more in 1.0 ...when they become part of the main mod,

Typical night below. See a server running a fun map, join up and get going. Round alarm goes off and people start going off about lack of teamwork etc. Server switches to Muttrah...cough..cough Karkand, I pop out to see what else is going on. Usually I see a couple other servers playing muttrah or fallujah and some servers with brutal pings running interesting maps.

I wasn't able to play the new minimods until recently, and I still haven't because they're never run. Bummed out on that.

Funny thing you're here for playing a mod that used to be a mini-mod.
Just think about it: If everyone would have thought "i dont play mini-mods because i suck" PR would never grown been so big as it is today.
PR would have died after a few months, never reaching a version 1.0, not even 0.5 probably if no one would ever played it.

Now think again: What happens if you support these mini-mods for PR here? Will they die when they get more attention? Or will they rather grow bigger, like PR did, and become a great addition for PR?
I think the last one, what do you think?

Hey guys,

]CIA[ Ace here. I just want you to know, for those who don't, that our main sever can't run mini-mods because we run DBMod.

We would run a mini mod server, but we simply haven't found the support needed, both from the community and from our community, to make this server a reality. I can always put up a server, but it wont do any good if our admins aren't there.

What do you want to do?

Dbmod until PR1.0. Afterwards, PR1.0 + minimods in mapvotes here and there.

Seriously after playing on CIA for some months, i just can't go back to "normal" (especially at "hunthiddencaches"gency).

I for one think DBmod is ****, I'm glad only CIA runs it.

Just the thought of its changes possibly infecting the main build in the next release *shivers*

What annoys you the most about it? Kits limitations? Only 4 caches? :-o

That question is reserved for and probably already answered in the DBMod thread.

Heureux, what do you have to say about CIA running a mini-mod server? Do you think we should make a total or partial switch to Mini-mods?

CIA is the only server perpetually populated, all euro servers only populate during appropriate hours and then die abruptly, it holds all the power.

I'm incredibly curious to see what would happen should you guys start playing vietnam, would players just outright quit the game? That would be fucking hilarious, I think.
