AF in BF2 issue

Post by 007.SirBond »

I am currently running BF2 on 16xAF throught my nvidia control settings.

However BF2 only has options for texture filtering which I assume is AF on low, medium and high.

After doing research I discovered high setting is only 4x.

I am wondering if you can turn off BF2's AF rendering completely.

I don't want to run BF2's AF and Nvidia's AF at the same time

I noticed the problem when I had texture filtering set to high while using 16x AF.
The 16x AF was overlapping the BF2's AF and I could notice the textures popping up over each other occasionally.

I know its not my led or anything else as everything is brand new.

My specs:

I7 3770k
Asus P8z77-v Pro
16gb ram
Samsung S27a950d 120hz
GTX 280
Windows 8 64bit

Vsynce enabled
Hyperthreading auto
Single display performace
Clamp
1080p

Pretty sure you can do exactly as you want, turn off BF2 AF. Apply/Save , exit BF2.
Set up the nVidia AF as you have it now. Triggered to run when BF2.exe and or PR.exe and or TR.exe runs.

I haven't looked at this in long enough I forgot which .exe to use in the nVidia control panel, and honestly I bought a new nvidia card 2 months ago and still have to do this myself, thanks for reminding me, I'll post back when I figure it out, though I think you're almost there already.

Thanks for the reply. I use bf2.exe

I have the steam version of bf2.

Shud I configure nvidia settings for pr.exe as well?

I don't know what tr.exe is.

Sometimes at far distances I can see textures overlapping other ones. Is it my nvidia settings?

It even occurs at close distance on odd locations, for example on fallujah, after you join the game. The camera is aimmed on that suburban street with some destroyed debris and broken fence texture on the road. I can see the ground textures overlapping each other causing a frequent steady appearing and disappearing texture in that area on the ground. Do you get that as well?

Is that normal?

Which .exe shud I be editing in my nvidia settings?
