Reload / Prone Animation Conflict

Post by ghostfool84 »

Description:
IF you reload and trying to prone while reloading the reloading animation aborts and you get the new prone animation for the weapon instead the reload animation. You only know you are reloaded when you here the sound for it. Should be the other way around, you should see the full reload animation and no prone animation if you are reloading.

Steps to Reproduce:
Reload your weapon when crouching or standing and lay down in the reloading process.

Tested On:
All Beta Maps, Several factions and weapons

This will happen with any animation you start playing when the first one is not finished. It just barley happen in older version of PR and happens now due the crawling being an animation. I doubt there is a fix for this.

Well, there is a way to fix this actually. If the devs changed the code and made it so that players couldn`t reload when they begin to sprint or change posture.

In my opinion, the crawling while prone animations are nice. There really is no need for a first person go to prone animation, as it conflicts with the reload animation while going to prone, or standing up, vice versa.

I myself and I think many others always go to prone while reloading, why not? You make yourself a smaller target when you are at your most vulnerable. It would be nice if you could not reload while sprinting or going to prone, or standing up from prone. I doubt any person in real life would be able to do a efficient reload while doing any of those things.

Yes we can, its not that difficult feat and people who regularly handle weapons can pretty much reload with eyes closed and hanging upside down from a moving vehicle.

Most likely we're not getting rid of the prone and prone crawling animations. Just something you're going to have to get used to.

I noticed that this is a problem for placing C4 and IEDs which to me is kind of a big deal. For the experienced player who knows the timing and listens for the sound it's no big deal. The problem is going to be with new players and moreover nice animations that were done for all these new IEDs aren't really seen. I usually always click to start placing the larger IEDs before I move just out of habit, even though not realistic, that's what everyone else normally does to get the IED as far out in the road in as little time as possible or to move into a cache as fast as possible. Is there anyway the animations could be changed for those kits only?

OR... another idea c
ould be that you must right click in order to place IEDs or C4 and that could keep you from moving fast, making ALL explosive setting take longer and thus requiring you to stay in one position. This would also slow down C4 setting and stopping C4 rushes, and possibly allow the power of the C4 to be increased slightly somewhere in between where it is now and the old power, because blufor seems to be having issues destroying caches as it is right now, I've played about 20 rounds, maybe 6 INS and have yet to see blufor win one yet.

Please show me video footage of yourself laying prone and then standing yourself up while reloading or diving to prone while reloading. I would also like to see you sprinting at full speed doing a quick reload.
