Alright after a long hiatus from PR I finally come back but after getting internet now I have a new problem. First couple of rounds I was able to stay in game for 15-20 minutes before being disconnected, the screen would freeze first. I restarted the modem and since then I was able to play a full round plus a few minutes of another round, now out of nowhere I can barely spawn before I get disconnected, I restarted the modem and the problem still persists. During the screen freeze, mumble still works before I am disconnected.
ISP-Comcast
Modem-Ubee DDM3513
Router-NETGEAR WNR1000v3
Please help I'm willing to do anything this side of animal sacrificing to play pr again.
UPDATE
So I tried a few different things with the firewall to no avail but what did make a difference was bypassing the router and going straight into the modem with a restart of the modem, no telling how long because I left but it didn't disconnect me like it was. I plugged back into the router after restarting both it and the modem and it didn't kick me quickly either. I'm still not satisfied because I can't fly a jet or operate a vehicle because I fear at some point i'll be disconnected, but I hope this information helps.

Re: PR 1.1.1 Disconnected from the server
*update* i decided to run a ping test with 4096 bytes of data in command mode and get a request timed out in addition to there being a 50% 75% packet loss. Could this be part of the problem? Also the more packets I send the longer the time out and the higher the loss rate.

That is really bad.
You're on the right track, and there sn't much we can do to help.
We (we meaning the guys on this forum) have come to a dead end trying to solve this problem.
Your next step is to basically go step by step through the troubleshooting on this thread:
Frequent DCs with an Ubee D3.0 and Belkin N300 Wir... - Comcast Help and Support Forums
Which involves:
taking the router out of the loop (you already did)
calling Comcast to replace the Ubee, then going through live chat to register the new Modem to your Comcast account.
calling Comcast to get a tech to your house to check the lines and signal strength.
Keep in mind that you are not alone, not in the PR community, not in the online gaming community with Comcast ISP, and not with those who use Ubee modems.
Best of luck on this , it will take some time and effort, and results are not guaranteed.
EDIT: Do you have Comcast Xfinity with internet/telephone or internet/telephone/cable TV package deal?

Re: PR 1.1.1 Disconnected from the server
Additional update, I watered down my routers firewall and now I'm about to set QOS priority for project reality and bf2 so I need to know the starting port and ending port, or atleast know how to find it. Also should I set the connection type to tcp/udp, tcp, or udp?
Also It's just comcast blast internet.
*Edit* I found the udp ports in the back of the bf2 manual, set the priority to highest, now I'm going to test it, wish me luck.
*UPDATE* Lasted in a mach longer than I have been but the server itself lost connection so I'll continue posting and testing.

Type "TCP/UDP" uses both of them. Whenever I don't know which one a port is, I just use both.steve_06-07 wrote:Also should I set the connection type to tcp/udp, tcp, or udp?

Try keeping an eye on your modem's temperature too. I know DSL modems tend to get pretty hot, especially when their cases are very closed up(which most of them are for some reason), and when they overheat you can get some pretty weird problems, one of the most common ones I've seen being random disconnections. Your modem is a cable modem, which I am not sure if they have the same issue or not, but it's still a good idea to check it.
Every once in a while just feel the top and/or bottom of your modem, it's normal for them to be warm but if it feels hot (like a little less hot than holding a cup with hot water, or more) then your issue could be related to overheating.

Re: PR 1.1.1 Disconnected from the server
This is an issue that is affecting many other PR players. Of all the games I play, PR seems to be the most severely affected, maybe because the old engine/netcode does not handle sudden ping spikes or packet delays/losses so gracefully. From my experience, this issue has existed for quite a while now (v0.9x or so).
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... -help.html was a particularly big thread trying to discuss the issue.
There is some evidence that this is not an issue specific to one particular brand of modems (Arris, Ubee and Motorola), and the wide-spread nature seems to suggest it is a service-level (Comcast) issue. Next time this happens, call Comcast support or talk to them over live chat and have them remote check your signals. You should also be able to see your current signal strengths by logging into the modem's service page (usually 192.168.100.1), which should rule out hardware and wiring issues.
