Random CTD

Post by Shivlxie »

So I get in game, I look for a squad, I start spawning near them and then I CTD with the resource cleaning just standing there, not stopping, don't think the game has that many resources. My explorer.exe just restarts, and then the following issue pops up: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f360-g ... ost1990869

Note that the link I provided with the issue happens to Battlefield 2 in general, I have tried deleting Video.con and have reset my profile. I also use Game booster 3 if that could be a part of it.

The game used to work fine before but then I upped my graphics settings once I found out they give you advantages.

Post your system specs please,
PRLAuncher->Support->Copy to Clipboard button
then paste everything into this thread.

Many types of overlay programs can cause this particular issue.

Running out of video RAM can cause this.

So give us some specs and we'll start troubleshooting this.

Page File: 0,00 B

You really need a page file.

I can almost guarantee this is a partial cause of your crashes.

Minimum would be 4GB, max would be 12GB.

Probably do well with 6GB page file.

Pagefile fixed crashes, but the resource cleaning window still doesn't disappear.

Another issue, disconnecting from a server causes Mumble to not work on another server.

To try to fix resource cleaning window ,
go to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin and Set Compatibility for PRLauncher.exe to Run as Admin.
Another issue, disconnecting from a server causes Mumble to not work on another server.
From which server to which server?
This is combination of a lack of a bit of code in the PRMumble implementation that is still being developed and a Mumble server admins' issue, and I believe PRTA's Mumble servers are set up in such a way as to have this bug occur more often than not.

Workaround for now is to alt-tab to desktop, shutdown PRmumble (right click the PR dogtag PRMumble icon in taskbar). It will auto-restart and place you in the correct Mumble server.

I was switching from Saga to CIA but thanks for the help, but the ALT TAB makes me lose HUD, even though I've been given a fix for it and I COULD try it, thank you.
