Settings won't save

Post by Chefmoto1 »

As the title says, none of my video settings will save after doing a fresh install. They show that they're saved in the launcher, but in game it's clear the settings are lower than they should be.

Go to Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\ and make sure the folders are set to allow your Windows user account to Read AND Write to the directory and files.

Do I need the Read Only box to be checked, shaded, or blank?

Read only should be set to blank.

Also in the Properties pop up screen, click the Security tab
Click on your user name in top menu,
in bottom menu, make sure you have WRITE permissions checked in the ALLOW column.
Here is a tutorial:How to Change File Permissions on Windows 7: 7 Steps
In step 6 you need to add WRITE permissions to your user account.

Every time I do it it doesn't stay. Like after I apply and click ok, I right click the folder/file again and it's shaded again. Settings still aren't applying in game.

It seems like it's only the mumble audio cues that won't go away now.

You might want to set PRLauncher.exe to "Runas Administrator For All Accounts" in the right click the .exe, Properties->Compatibilty->Advanced menu. Click Apply to save.

Not quite sure why this is happening but it's a windows 7 UAC issue, not so much a PR issue.

Post back and let me know if the above works.
