Mute/deafen mumble

Post by KingKong.CCCP »

I discovered a big advantage when it comes down to infantry fights, that I find weird - mumble deafen button. More kills, less deaths.

Maybe option to kill all conversations and hear only local mumble should be implemented. It would be realistic, cos it should be possible for a soldier to turn off the radio during fights.

Yes, I know most of you will be like "Waat!??" and like "dude your kung fu sucks"... and I respect that, I really do. It's just... I'm still right.

I'm not sure about deafening all but local, but I did setup "." on my numpad to deafen mumble for the same reason you're talking about. Helps a lot, especially if I also have TS up in the background.

In the launcher just go options > PR Mumble > Launch and then go to the shortcuts area to set it up.

NOTE: I just looked and you can only deafen all, but I see when a deafen radio (that keeps local active) would be useful.

when I played with mumble muted (before 1.0) I killed at least twice more than when it was unmuted hearing stupid squad mates saying useless information

Is there a way to mute squad chat? Sometimes squad leaders use the channel so damn much that it's impossible to talk to your squad.

There are two options:
1. mute all
2. alt tab, and mute all squad leaders saying "to all squads, to all squads"

I wish there would be a way to mute all radio, and leave only local. That would be great.

I have been known to mute mumble when it's 'Go Time' it really does make the difference.

What I'd really like to do is either mute, or better still, alter the levels between squad chat and local. As it is now, even standing right next to someone talking in local, if a squad mate starts talking I can't hear the guy in local over it, no chance.

Although in the interest of debate, there would be problems with letting people choose which parts of mumble to use. Nothing worse than getting no SL comms at all.

Cheers, Murkey.

Damn it, I tried everything. It's simply not possible.

Is it much to ask this to be added to PR Mumble list of features? Mute sq speech button... thanks.
