For reference:

Here's UAV:

He has thermals on in some of the pictures from what I see. They're just B&W. Thermals were 2 on UAV also IIRC.ComradeHX wrote:Green filter?
As in press X for FLIR right now?
Have you played with reshade?Steeps wrote:Three of those screenshots have thermals on. Numbers 3, 5, and 6. Can't see anything. My suggestion is either a night vision type of view or to brighten the normal view.
Because if you look at the screenshots you can't see shitComradeHX wrote:I don't see why you can't use UAV; I assume FLIR still highlights stuff? You can then drop a question mark slightly offset from the target and find your target's approximate location from there for marking.
Once again you show that you have no play time and little knowledge about the game, but yet you have an opinion on everything.ComradeHX wrote:Green filter?

The problem is not the fact you can't figure out where you are looking, it's that you can't see shit.ComradeHX wrote: -snip-

This is what BTR-80's heat signature looks like in a more realistic game:Fir3w411 wrote:The problem is not the fact you can't figure out where you are looking, it's that you can't see shit.
That BTR is barely visible and it is a giant heat signature. Imagine infantry or an FOB.
I also can see absolutely nothing now with the green filter, compared to the normal thermals.
You must be new around here.uberlamer wrote:I atleast can't see anything in the green filter screenshots, I guess it's just me having visibility problems.
Are you saying you can increase the visibility after putting some green color ontop of your screen, that is the most ridiculous thing I've read on these forums..

And you keep trying to convince us your great methods(or huge eyes) allow you to navigate better with UAV on this map (or something along those lines).[R-DEV]Mineral wrote:Today I removed the night layer of dovre(in the purpose of some larger map balance/layer work)...To me it's really bad.As in this thread UAV barely works...the night settings make it horrible and you can't see anything..
So you just complained about higher contrast, a proven method of improving night map visibility...uberlamer wrote:Ok, imagine for like 1 second, that we are all stupid(as if you dont think it already), and explain to us what is the point of even mentioning 3rd party "monochrome, high contrast adjusted colour to be green, with a bit of film grain added + vignette" filter (that=to add, doesn't even help you see better, if not makes it worse).Isnt it obvious that Steeps was talking about in-game Green Thermal?
In my opinion it's better seeing the actual vehicle:
Than the outlines of the vehicle:
Also how will you know in an actual game whether you are looking at a rock that lights up on thermals(inb4 you say static objects dont light up on thermals, due to your great knowledge of BF2's engine) or an actual BTR-60?
All I see right there is a rectangular shaped "something", and if you didn't say its a BTR, I would keep wondering and wondering (and I do very well know what a BTR looks like) what that thing is.
Even an R-DEV has spoken about how horrible the visibility is

Surprised this thread's not locked yet.
