PRISM Timelapse
So this is a thing I've been wanting to do for a long time, and I thought it was pretty cool. Originally I was going to have two AFK people watching the map and composite the video footage... but thanks to PRISM I can do the same thing with waaaaaaaaaaay less effort haha
Lemme know what you all think, I just think its a pretty cool way to visualize Project Reality

So artistic. A true Picasso.
Dat chat, dat steamroll. Truly how PR is meant to be played.

Yeah unfortunately PRISM crashed twice cause I had to deal with Malv. We banned a few cheaters today, still looking into the rest... never ending battle.

Cool stuff BD42, I can imagine this being used for some cool post-game analysis for the big clan/tourney events

That's neat. I've always wanted to do something like this, but before PRISM there wasn't really a way.

You know... no joke, would anyone be interested in participating in an event where we get as many people to record as possible. Everyone records their uncut perspective, and I'll record prism... and then I could compile a thread on our website with the PRISM timelapse, and have links to each units perspective. Everyone could even host it on their own channel, I'd just post links to each Squad's video.

Re: PRISM Timelapse
wow, really? do you, devs, even have any guarantee that admins do not have this thing open on the second display while playing on the server at the same time? rather start selling official cheats

If you can't trust the admins on your server of choice, you're fucked any way TBH.

yeah you can blindly trust anyone you want, but I trust in human nature. I saw that happening in serious milsim communities or large and trusted mmo shards, pr is not any different. in fact, pr could be worse because most of the servers are representing some clan and those want to show how STRONK they are.Zrix wrote:If you can't trust the admins on your server of choice, you're fucked any way TBH.
only thing that stops people from cheating is relative difficulty to do so but now there's just that cool tool from the devs, good job, really.

they can fight over "the stronkest scrub" title but jokes aside, there is no other competitive games providing such tools, for a reason.

Re: PRISM Timelapse
Nice one BD42

You could also have a bunch of feeds on the sides during the main time laps showing a bunch of different players perspectives and could show the ones having the main action at the time, with also possibly having little popups when main cool action to them at the time with a link to the exact time in that video of the action, a bit like so

I also wouldn't call PR a competitive game myself, its not anywhere like on the seam league as CS:GO or w/e in that regards and never will be.

PR: Falklands mate, have perspectives of both the gunners on the Frigate and Jets attacking itRatface wrote:We've got to do this for the next Normandy release when it comes![]()
We have measures in place to ensure its not being exploited without us knowing about it and for any servers who do exploit it, they risk loosing their server licence which is also something that very few other games have.umadbro wrote:they can fight over "the stronkest scrub" title but jokes aside, there is no other competitive games providing such tools, for a reason.

Man... don't be a **** about it.umadbro wrote:ugh that's changes everything! not like you can have a laptop or second pc, these things do not exist
When we say you can't have them both open at the same time we mean it. PRISM tracks your user account and IP, so if its open with either the same user and/or the same IP it won't work.
Like yeah okay you can get around that stuff if you really try, but at that point you can also download a straight up cheat program if you really try (or just run a second copy of Project Reality on a laptop) and since our admins ban people that do that stuff every day, I guarantee you they'd find whether I was abusing it as well and have the devs take my license away.
PRISM has been doing wonders to help us catch cheaters, so in the end it does more good than harm (if any.) You're opening a big old can of worms that's already been opened like 20 times, trust me when I say this has already all been discussed and we ultimately decided PRISM was a good thing to have. Chill with the spiteful sarcasm.
Okay yeah that's excellent... I mean I'll make this event myself and everything, but honestly this is a cool enough idea I wouldn't mind if we made this a collaborative effort. Maybe get the devs in on it? Compile it into a badass trailer or something, something high production.'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino;2087775']You could also have a bunch of feeds on the sides during the main time laps showing a bunch of different players perspectives and could show the ones having the main action at the time, with also possibly having little popups when main cool action to them at the time with a link to the exact time in that video of the action, a bit like so![]()
