try doing that again, only BEFORE running the launcher, go to root directory and run prbf2.exe

i forgot to include that step

is this crash trying to launch the launcher or the game itself? do you have the latest windows 10 updates? this is essential

direct x latest?

I am facing a issue with Project Reality v1.3 Standalone on the new Windows 10 OS. I have just recently upgraded (downgraded?) from Windows 8.1 and it worked perfectly on that system, now that i have Windows 10 the program wont start, i have tried changing the compatability settings to Windows 8, 7, and Vista, but none of these options allow the game to start up. I absolutely love this game and have played it for a long time... Please, someone?? I installed directx and NET.... I reinstalled PR 3 times and nothing... Please, anyone?

Won't run on a 64Hz refresh rate - only 60!

Hello guys,

I experienced a similar issue until I installed the DirectX from here.
Then I started to experience a similar issue to when PR 1.0 came out. The game could launch, load into a match and I could play it but you could not ALT-TAB out of the game. Because as soon as you wanted to tab back into it, the HUD would be missing.

I suspect the shiny new DX12 not being compatible with PR and causing problems. Is there anything I can do against this error?

Nothing to do with directX. Has been an issue since win8. No solution found so far. What appears to help is CTRL+ALT+DELETE, opening task manager and then tabbing back into the game.

I fixed the issue tonight.... with a format lol. Well the thing is, before I used the web installer for directx... I ran CCleaner to delete some shit from the registry that I thought might of caused the error. It might of deleted something necessary. Unfortunately I don't have the backup of it to give it to you for inspection, sorry.

For Windows 10 users. Clean install, install the gfx drivers and then update to latest. After that just run the directx web-installer, first one you find when googling "directx" and install that. If all goes well, then the game should work fine...

When I first ran PR after a new build and reinstall of w10, well actually 2 with tech preview and then full retail. Each time it wouldn't work but after the three stooges C++, DirectX and .net it worked. In my case it was directX I think.
