Re: Why do people not accept younger players?
If you are a kid, talk only when you need, be mature and be good.
Its a shame but its reality.
If you want to be accepted by a community while being young, Keep it to the minimum for the social things, and put it to the maximum to the performance thing.
When I was 11, I used to play Halo 2 online
Most of my friends online were 18-20
They used to joke about my girly voice but since I was at their level and most of the time, I could even kick their ***, I was respected.
So, stay quiet.
Talk when its needed.
Do NOT rage when someone is mocking you.
Try to use mature words and stay calm.
It should be fine

They do, but respect is a thing you need to deserve rather than something you granted.

assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to give up and respawn.

Re: Why do people not accept younger players?
I do the opposite, everyone I meet I respect them at maximum first
But then they can loose it very very fast
then its very long to regain it
but in beginning, everyone is respected to me.

Re: Why do people not accept younger players?
I'll try to answer more common question to answer yours.
What kind of players do people want to have in their team?
1. Easy to communicate and teamwork with
2. Same or higher skill
3. Fun to play with
4. Reliable and stable
5. Personalities you (can) respect
6. Personalities others (can) respect [make you look better in other's eyes or 'socially cool']
7. Same mindset / playstyle / topics to discuss besides game (supporting each over)
This list might be different from person to person, but mostly it's very basic and common to everyone.
It's common opinion that a lot of unmature players don't have those qualities. The younger they are, the less chance that they became mature.
If you have those qualities, it doesn't really matter how young you are, you will be accepted as soon as you can prove it.
Some people might find your voice annoying or to be afraid to be affiliated with you, but it might happen not only to young players.
The situation you want to avoid is where you're new to the group of people who knows each over and nobody knows you. It will put you alone against the crowd. Find one person who already likes you and make him vouch for you.

"Oh it's those squaker-cod kids again"
well of course if your voice is like deep af nobody bats an eye. Read the manual & don't ask stupid questions unless you know the player. Speak english and play properly and 9/10 don't care how old you are

90% of players do care about age...
They will mostly not accept you as SL (did happen when I was young playing BF2)

Re: Why do people not accept younger players?
I accept younger kids, just when they start constantly talking about stuff it does get on my nerves. And if they ask to: "How do you reload your gun". Or when they wander off to M13 meanwhile we are at G5.
I don't have issues with the younger players though. But same goes for most players anyways, I've had older players (certainly in their 30's) do the same **** that a lot of the younger players do. Just read the flippen manual and follow orders. It's ok to ask SOME questions, but make sure they are logical. Not: "Why can't we capture that flag?" Or taking a vehicle and driving to us when I don't ask you to.

Or making propose ? I mean, I proposed my team to flank building from back side with 2 soldiers, while 3 soldiers are going to break in the front...matty1053 wrote:I accept younger kids, just when they start constantly talking about stuff it does get on my nerves. Re: Why do people not accept younger players?
I'm 40 years old and don't have a lot in common with a teenager, nor do I have a strong desire to hang out with one. You better have something to offer, or just do your job, be quiet, and learn something.
That said, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in my squad, but my fuse is very short.

Backseat SLs are one of the most annoying things you get as the leader of a squad. I'd say that kick was well deserved.ZektorSK wrote:Or making propose ? I mean, I proposed my team to flank building from back side with 2 soldiers, while 3 soldiers are going to break in the front...

Re: Why do people not accept younger players?
I think the opposite, When you have a squad that can think for themselve, you keep words to minimum and everyone do what they have to do
Efficiency is silent and deadly
Too much words during action is confusing
I enjoy hearing the ideas of my squad members.
Although there should be no debate when I (the SquadLeader) set the final words on game plans
Wether its to choose my squadm8 tactics, or choose mine.
I actually really dissaprove those Squad Leader who take their inflated head to talk to everyone from above. -_-

[edit:]
After re-reading what I wrote, I think it might look confusing since I seem to have exposed 2 opposite argument wich would discredit my post.
first point was:
During a firefight, the best thing is to not give any direction to your squad members and trust their own judgement on what to do
second point was:
Before a firefight I like to get everyone ideas on what is the match plan before going in, even if in the end, its the SL decision to cut straight.
It was nice ^^

Re: Why do people not accept younger players?
This game is not for kids, thats why. A very high degree of maturity is needed which usually cannot be reached before 15-16 years. Thats why I would never play with anybody below that age. I started off as a squeaker in COD2 among 40+ players, I always considered myself mature for my age but god what an annoying fucktard I still was. I cringe hard thinking back.
