Fuel
This is the ultimate realism mod ... this is the Ultimate factor in all vehicles, how long can they move. or is this not going to be possible unless Truama implements this (which is nearly 100% not going to show up). But if possible would this be put into the mod(i think this would turn ppl away if its to short of a time)

LOL probably wouldn't have any effect on me as I die way to fast to have to worry about running out of fuel
I've seen other discussions with other mods about fuel. It's a tough call. Seeing and the games are not "real time" it's difficult to think of how fuel could play a role, and not make you keep turning back every 2 seconds toward home base. Figure at an average Public DC server, how long does a jet really last anyway? Tanks, while they last a bit longer, are gone and re-spawned quite often as well.
I do agree that it most likley would turn more people away then it would draw them in.

Even tho it may be useless most of the time, it would still add that little dab of realness. I mean, it would be cool to add it for the beta testers and for the first release....then see how the comunity responds and then fix it if people hate it.
Just what i think...

I almost say: the more people you turn off, the better. But a mod is no fun if noone plays either. I would still like to turn away the cry babies and the teams of 30 with 15 of them as snipers. (ala Joint Operations)
Guess I'm undecided.

Well considering the battles are fought across a few square miles and the average military vehicle is capable of running for at minimum 2hours if you made it realistic which is the whole argument nobody would ever run out of fuel because most games only last 30minutes and thats assuming as already mentioned you stay alive the entire game.
Anotherwords it would be fake realism and thus counter productive to the game and the developers time. We are governed by ammunition and damage, I think thats plenty to recharge on and at least is more real then a fuel tank for 5 minutes play.

If you wanted to go to the reality extreme (which outsiders would expect) on fuel consumption, you would have to take into account factors of air travel that include low level flight burns fuel faster that high level flight, and a fully laden aircraft will burn fuel quicker than one with its ordnance spent - and then compensate for this when you 'magically' rearm while flying at 200feet above an airbase at 400knots!! (there's another issue to address
)
The best thing is to probably leave it as it is, as mentioned earlier, the rounds don't last long enough for fuel consumption to be an issue...it would be a big can of worms if you were to try to implement this
And who would pay for it?? You would all be flat broke if the vehicles were filled up in UK!!

It would be interesting, but then the maps would have to be hundreds of miles long for it to actually be an annoyance to pilots. Its a good idea, but unrealistic since jets take off of airfields within the relatively small maps(bf2) compared to actual real life maps. Great idea nonetheless, pretty much a gameplay over realism battle for the idea.

Doesn't sound to practical for a game like BF2, or all that realistic to be completely honest. Sure and M1 may not get good MPG, but it's definately going to last through a battle, other wise it wouldn't be in service. Battles in BF2 are too short, and take place in a very small space(relative to real life battles). The only way fuel might impact game play is in the jets after burners. The pool should be larger, but also not re-fill. Then you'd have to land and "re-fuel" your jet. But other than that I doubt it would make much sense to have it in game.

dunno bout that but i guess if your playing a game with a few thousand tickets then fuel would work, but really no one lasts that long anyway, even if fuel was there i doubt it would come into effect very often except in the case of fighters, and if you got into fuel you might as well get into food haha, imagine just siting in the back of a bradley and taking out an MRE, theres some extremes that reality just doesnt have to reach.
