Yeah they should change depending on what environment you are at. Like if you are in a room, it should sound more deeper. If you are in a desert, it should sound sort of an echo sound. Things like this would improve the beautifulness of the game.DkMick wrote:Agreed 100%
And hearing the same explosion over and over again gets really old, really fast.

AH! I'm good but I'm not that good. I can really just replace sounds, not actually mod the physics of them in game.
I've already replaced a lot and messed around with some more. Someone make a list of all the sounds that most of the players hate and I'll aad them to my list to change with HD sounds. The explosions in my SOL mod are ultra clear. And I'm adding my original loud bullet cracks (only for flybys not rics). I still want to do general movment sound changes but I might just send what I have and add newer versions when time allows. CURRENTLY all my time has been spent on animation projects.
Things left to modify because they sound lame:
Foot Steps (add more gear clink sounds)
Death Sounds
Any gun you want me to change just tell me. I got plenty of audio to use. G3 and handguns do sound pretty lame as stock. Bare in mind, this isn't a crazy huge 1GB PR mod, it's a tiny 5MB audio update.
Oh, and I didn't buy the game because my machine is a POS and it crashes sometimes on the demo. Still, it is my favorite game of all time.

keep in mind that flyby sounds have to be mono!SuvivorGrim wrote:... And I'm adding my original loud bullet cracks (only for flybys not rics)...

this game lacks some good bass, pretty much only base that is grand is the lightning on ghost train, if an explosion goes off on the other side of the map i wana hear a deep muffled boom, like during forth of July. Bf2 is completely missing the whole deep base thing for the most part, sure there are a few things that have good base but most dont, thunder and blackhawk are the only things that do. and you dont really need a subwoofer to get good base, my headphones have just as much base as most speaker setups (givin they are $350 headphones) As much as i hate to admit this....a few years back while i was in....wallmart...i got a $30 pair of Maxell noise canceling headphones that were actually somewhat compairable to the Bose i have now and they had pretty good base response so even headphones from a supplier that doesnt need to be renamed worked well so you shouldnt have to make sounds suck to cope with peoples poopy speakers/sound cards (or probably lack of cards)

I think this is an awesome idea. Most of the fireing sounds in PR are supurb, as I own some of these firearms, and the cracks are very similar, especialy on the ak47's.
I do not like the handgun discharge sounds at all, they need to be a nice loud pop, not much carry.
Adding ultra realistic brass sounds would be awesome!!, even though they are pretty good already, more is better in the sound aspect IMO.
Another thing I do not like is the sounds of the coaxial MG's on the armour are not very good.
I wanna hear it like it should be, a realistic machine gun discharge, slightly muffled with the caseings bouncing around inside, belt noise ect.
Perhaps more engine, and track noise for the heavy armour, especialy on the T-90. M1A2's turbine I hear is not so bad inside.

WHO DO I SEND THE .ZIP TOO?
Also what if istead of the ambient winds and birds you heard guns and explosions in the distance? Mild and muffled, maybe mixed with ambiant noise. I've been watching a lot of Iraq videos online to try and capture the feel. What are your thoughts?
