Aside from running them over, it was just mensioned on the last page that US troops can "capture" civ's with a knife...So them standing still in a road would end quickly even if you couldn't run them over.Fenix16 wrote:What happens when people playing as civilians completly block off a critical road? now it's clear! if that's the story it's a nice addon at the gameplay. the problem is if the teams are still balanced, coalition forces will have employees of "security companies"?'[R-PUB wrote:Hfett']You are a civilian, you got insurgents friends on your squad
they are hiding inside a building near your position
You saw a US humvee passin by, you trow some rocks
A Marine comes to capture you, you run inside the building and tell the insurgents that a marine is comming
He enter the building just to be ambushed by the insurgents who also fires a RPG on the humvee and a firefight starts
Teamwork with Civilians and insurgents will be the key for the victory (and fun)

Not necessarily; when the Marines come to "silence" the protesters, they can locomote themselves down the road, away from their persuers. Cue wacky music.Vicktor Vauhn wrote:Aside from running them over, it was just mensioned on the last page that US troops can "capture" civ's with a knife...So them standing still in a road would end quickly even if you couldn't run them over.

Do these have the capability to kill someone, say when they've got blurry vision?bosco wrote:Eggman said they've got rocks![]()
I was kind of skeptical about the removal of light AT as an unlimited kit, and the civilian kit, but as i read more, i become a bigger fan of them. No longer will half of the insurgents be RPG on extraction maps, and no longer will a whole squad come back light AT after you killed them with your tank.
Initially i was thinking there would be like 1 person playing civilian, but now i really want to play civilian and throw rocks at people.

I can already see a squad of civilian hiding on a roof waiting for USMC soldiers and knocking all of them unconscious !'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']the rocks are pretty hard to get accurate with but can kill someone who is already injured / bleeding. rocks won't do much damage, but hitting someone in the head with a few of them will knock them unconscious![]()
You should give them frying pans that would act like a rock but at melee

No man, they're serious; April is still two weeks away, that's when they'll start slipping in really absurd stuff.-=TB=-Tobakfromcuba wrote:isnt it? civs will not have rocks, will they?

It'd be cool to have two classes of civilians. Both with identical skins, and both armed with cell phones. One of the classes doesn't do anything but is arrestable, the other class can use the cell phone to call in limited mortar strikes or something on US troops. So, just because you see a guy on a roof with a cell phone doesn't mean you can shoot him, could be just a regular civvie, but it could be a forward observer. You have to make the call to chase and arrest, or take him out. Maybe have a very slight visual indicator that he's trying to call in a strike instead of chatting, something very subtle to help the player make the decision to shoot or not.
I dunno, just throwing that out there. Seems like that would make the class fun to play and play against.

Nice one.Portable.Cougar wrote:Run them over, then back up and run them over again
To go back to the vehicles.
Maybe this can come later.
1. the Civis cannot get into vehicles that have the potintial to harm with weapons and bombs.
2. Cannot get into tango spawn cars. Sure they can spawn in, but they will need to get out soon or die.
3. They have their own cars that seat about four. The tangos can get inside and drive them also, but there is no sun roof, so they cannot shoot out of it. No one can spawn in on this car.
Maybe a taxi cab, lol.
4. This is important, the maximum speed of the vehicle is slow (15 mph). This is allow the Civilians to drive around slowly and not be hostile.
5. Killing civilans in their special car will have the same effect as if they where not in their special car.
5. Set it up so the Marines can make them get out of the car. Maybe have it set up that when they can get in the car and force them out of it, dunno.
For an extra bonus, have it set-up so the Marines can drive this special car. Be cool to be in a fire-fight and have a civilan dirve up and you stop them and jack their care, arrest them and then drive away with it.
___
If you'all can do this, it would add one more dimension to the civi gameplay.
In Iraq right now, there are a lot of cars running around and a lot of stuff for the Coalition Forces to process.
Plus we can set-up the Car to blow up (hidden I.E.D. underneath it), so the Corp will need to make the call to blow up a Civi car to prevent casulties to their friends, or try to shoot the tires out or ram if off the road with a heavy jeep and arrest them.
__
IN conclusion, this set-up will allow a G.T.A. feel and make the City seem bigger and allow some real fun gameplay.
