boats boats and more boats :)

Post by Nickbond592 »

more boats anyone

recently been playing battleship mod and was impressed
and was wondering if new boats were being maufactrued for PR, getting a little bored of the RIB for all sides anyway.

i'm not talking big boats as it has been previously explaind that they use missles engaging each other over hundreds of miles instead of boarding each other pirates stylie

so pehaps some more river patrol boats for the rivers and maybe a few bigger boats for the seas (with big guns and the like on them)

if you are going to make some new boats can we make them very fast and loud and manoverable (like a jet ski allmost) if implemented i think they will become a very enjoyable asset.

have searched the foums found this and wasnt on vikingos list either

Am I the only one that finds the battleship mod to be a little.. how to put this, graphically challenged? Yeah its a good idea and probably a feat beyond all there is to make moving boats in the BF2 engine, but it looks bad. I rather go on a FH sea map if I want sea battles.

So there is my 2 cents, being the graphics whore that I am.

I was disapointed from the begining that vBF2 only had the RHIB. I would love to see severl different types of ships for the game ranging from fast and mobile attack craft to larger support ships with some sickening fire power.

Also, if a Mark IV (as used by the Navy SEALS) was incorperated into the game I would almost never leave it

I'd like to see a Navy Cruiser like the USS Port Royal or maybe newer ones. (The Port Royal is the only one I've ever been on. That would be small so they wouldnt lag and you could give them a Mark 45 "5 Cannon ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5-54_Mark_45 )

I think that would be a good addition but we'll just have to wait and see.

The nations at war mod made a boat similar to what you are asking for. Too bad they arent a part of Black Sand Studios. Anyway here is the link: http://www.nawmod.com/ You will need to scroll down some to see the part about the boat.

The "new" Riverine Squadrons are equipped with the Small Unit Riverine Craft (SURC), which they inherited with the disbanding of the 2nd Marine Division's Small Craft Company.

A couple of the SBTs have the Special Operations Craft-Riverine.

Both it and the SURC are heavily armed.

Ah, BF;V.

those were the days.

"I got troops
on the move
over"

and best of all was

"oooooh
everybody's heard
about the bird
about the bird bird bird
about the bird
said
don't you know
about the bird?
everybody knows
that the bird is the word!"

There's something to be said for a game in which the primary use of the ZSU is as a bf2 APC style anti-infantry cannon.

I would like to see some small destroyers, like the recce type 45 introduced by the Royal Navy. I think once the main PR stuff is done, I think some naval stuff would be nice.

Anything to hit the beach with that isn't inflatable or an APC would be nice.

Personally. I would "like" this for fast insertions. Its a CRRC.
Telling people to make models themselves is kind of a waste of time. I would like nothing more than to have that knowledge so I don't need to ask for things, but only a few people one these entire forums know how.

I cant understand why the US use open boats, everybody on it is completely exposed to enemy fire.

They are normally used by special forces like the SEALS, fast, lightweight and all.

Okay but how fast? I mean for example, combatboat 90 (yes I know I posted about it in another thread aswell) is covered, bulletproof, does 40 knots, and is able to stop with around 20 meters available.
