Yeah its kind of a pain helping someone, but its like a rookie in the military you know. Someone has to show them the ropes and keep them from getting killed. The great thing about PR is that the community is good, we should keep that up and keep welcoming new people with a little help here and there while the Dev's hopefully put in a training process or something. Show some good nature, thats what will keep this mod going strong. The more people on here, the more servers that will popup. Pretty soon with the awesome clan matches and great Dev's, man who knows what could happen to this! With .07 coming out with Age of Empires and all the new content, this Mod seriously has endless possibilites.

I agree man, I was recently a noob to all things PR and just a little help from time to time was all I needed. Its not like someone had to spend 30 minutes talking to me, just give a quick answer/suggestion here or there. I enjoy the noobs typically...just not when they are bunched up on one team or a SL, or driving my APC/Chopper. Eitherway, soon enough there will be a very strong/educated PR community. Everytime I play I'm amazed at the willingness to team up and help, as well as the lack of idiots.zeroburrito wrote:every time someone asks a noob question in a server i am happy abut it. just means the mod is growing.

When you are like me and a noob finds out if someone has a neg score on devfile they get kicked, they will get under my helicopter until I get kicked just so they can get in the heli and get themselves killed. The only circumstance under which I will be nice to a noob is if they register here on the forums and read the guide, but only then.

I probably tell someone at least once a day how to use the zoom on armor or helos. Or how to switch to HEAT rounds. And if they're in my squad, I always help them with the more mundane questions about kit requests and stuff.
But when they ask questions over the chat, I just ignore it mostly. I just don't feel like spending my time typing when I could be playing.
Unless I'm watching IEDs. Then I'll give entire lessons over the chat. Or if there's no noobs to teach, I'll get into long debates on the nature of life and divinity.

If a new guy asks a question, I will answer it when the game isn't going very fast. If I answer it and they ask the same question again, I refuse to help people at all. Ask the question, and wait for the answer.

Yes, there are a lot of pricks there. I usually issue language warnings when I see that kind of smacktardery, and then if they continue, I kick.

I still remember the first time that I asked about requesting kits in game. I was unable to get a kit from the back of the APC; there were enough members in my squad to get a kit, and no message was coming up about there being not enough kits to go around. After asking my squad (none of them answered me, even as I was asking in VOIP), I proceeded to ask in full chat. I was immediately greeted by at LEAST 3 "stfu noob, go read the manual" responses. Even after calmly explaining to them the second time that I had read it and that I could not get a kit from the APC, someone STILL told me that I was a noob and that I should "go back to nilla if you dont know how to play".
My point is, there seems to be a lot of people in this community that are eager to discourage new players, as if someone asking questions was a sin punishable by death. I try to help people out whenever I can, no matter how obvious the question might be. Its great that so many people here do the same, even if there are a lot out there who think they are all that because they know more than a first time player

It falls under the category of chav violence rituals commonly known as 'Toonz' these 'Toonz' are actually a primitive form of rape.

I know at least 12 vetran BF/mod players that feel the same way and have backed out of PR because of this attitude, they love the game, but hate the people with this attitude and are tired of reading the BS messages and hearing new people get flamed over voip because there trying to have a good time and learn something new.
Such a great technical mod and fun to play, but the community is going to kill this mod from the inside out if it is not careful.......
You can say "let them go" all you want, but when you have these huge maps that are being worked on and you can't find a full server anywhere and have to play with 12 or 21 people at a time because not allot of people are playing the mod,..we will see how "fun" and "intense" it is?
on a side note I wonder what will happen if some of the up coming changes ruffle the feathers of the "die hard" community? Will the thumb suckers start to cry to the devs?
Please Devs just do your thing, it's beautiful so far and I applaud your work, I know you have maintained you are going to make the mod you want and let the chips fall where they may with the community.
I do ask though can you really call it a game if there are no players?

god this is becoming a racial debate agaisnt noobs. GUYS WERE BECOMING RACIST we need to stamp out ths predjudice against noobs. Yes we are the elitists tactical players of BF2 but seriously we need more of us and helping the new players is a good start!
