Its there to reduce the number of times you would have gotten killed by a single rifleman with ammo packs. Remember The 1st 30seconds of Karkand, and how EVERYONE would take support and spam nades.
You could say it simulates getting it out/off of where you store it, as you tend not to have granades in your gloves.

Oops. Make that 40 feet, not yards. Sorry, have football on the brain most of the time.

Doesnt mean you can't use it at very close range (not that you'd want to), you just have to trade linear distance for height so the round gets its spins in. I think it need to travel about 40 yards before it arms, but its been a long time since Basic, so I forget.
Exactly, except for the yards/feet part.

More guns and bullets make bad guys go away faster,
which in turn makes everyone in the area safer.

The Power wrote:lol that sounds fun i rarely use the right click when i have a nade in my hand
little tip:.. Never use left click, its hard to control the timing and accuracy of the throw.

If you use right click for nades, you can hold the button, and when you release it, you will throw it.
It means you can delay the throw, targets have a tendency to move, the little buggers. It allows you to adjust the throw accordingly.
Try it you should see the obvious advantages in a fire fight.

examples: If i know a doorway if covered with a SAW gunner inside. I''ll take out a nade, right click, hold it, then i'll jump out and release when i'm aiming correctly. The nade will be thrown immediately i release the button, giving far more control. I don’t have to time my movements around the throwing of the nade. If you left click, that nade is going to be thrown if you are ready or not.
Its hard to explain.

In the same example, one of your mates jumps into the room just as you were just about to release the nade. If you'd left clicked.. your in trouble.. you'll try and throw it somewhere safe, it will probably bounce off something and kill your SL ;) . However if you'd right clicked, you can do a number of things.. wait for your mate to be gunned down, and then throw your nade or take all the time you need to throw it somewhere safe as the room is now clear.
I sometimes find myself running around with a live nade looking for a target for several minutes, but when you do met them, you are more than adequately armed!

Mystiqq wrote:Im not sure how the other armies in the world go about with grenades but in Finnish army, at least in peace time, none of the grenades are stored in "working" condition. The "igniter" (includes the "pin" etc) and the actual explosive part is separate which you have to put together before use. So you have one grenade ready for use at one time, which i think makes sense.

In that respect, its pretty realistic, you probably wouldnt want to have 2-3 grenades dangling from you at one time for no reason. :)
I doubt you'd have to assemble a grenade in the middle of the battlefield... Though, the nades USMC uses do have two separate pins you have to pull out to get it working. One is a safety pin, and the other's the pin pin. Supposedly, most of the time the marine/soldier will remove the safeties before entering combat, so that the can simply pull the pin and toss the nade.
