With the New bigger maps-Arty

Post by AppleJuice4u2 »

So with these larger maps with larger view distances i was wondering what the community's thoughts on my idea are.

So i was thinking at the moment BF2 artillery is optimized for the smaller vanilla game play, i think most follow what i mean? Hard to explain.

Well id like to see on the new, bigger PR maps, a heavier artillery because the one that is used currently would seem abit small for a large map like so. So would it be possible to increase the area of damage of it? A bigger and badder strike would be alot cooler with the addition of commander assests and make artillery something to be very feared.

I guess since the artillery models in this game are howitzers i belief off the top of my head you couldn't incorporate an air strike or tomahawk in place?

Its just when i see artillery coming in on me, i go and dive a small rock in the middle of the strike and will live. Id like to see something like anti infantry artillery with those bombs that open up and drop smaller bombs which drop millions of pieces of shrapnel to the targets below. Not exactly like that though but to the degree, i think if smaller artillery rounds could be coded into dropping, maybe something like a gernade would work but ALOT of them then artillery could be something that would be a main objective of the focus of the other team in getting commander assets down. Also i guess this might mean longer artillery wait time if neccesary.

thanks for reading this long if you did, you can find me on one of the Al bash servers for the night cya.

I think the artillery, in these maps, is going to "be" the airstrikes, since we are going to have better airplanes and a new gameplay for them.

I think they only plan to leave it in for the larger maps anyways.

Seems strange, since people using commander hacks can drop arty at quicker intervals...

Interesting, considering I've never seen anything strange about artillery, in vanilla or PR.

Well, the commander hack is pretty obvious, so they probably use it on non-PB and rarely admined servers...

Seeing half of the map bombarded by arty and 50 supply crates dropping down, hmm, what could that be?

set the arty decay rate and timer to a fixed known rate and have it respawn at a fixed know rate and voila! timed arty....never tested mind you but im pretty sure it would work...a hack..but an effective hack none the less...
