Possible new Bf2 patch?

Through a collaborative effort Intel and EA DICE are rolling out a new Battlefield map for players to battle on. Highway Tampa is a vehicle focused map that offers a game experience similar to classic 1942 desert warfare. Explore this stretch of the Arabian Peninsula in your choice of vehicle and work with your team mates to conquer the map for your team. Download the beta, join in the servers, and drive, fly, and destroy your way to victory. Then drop by the EA forums and let us know what you think. Also keep your eyes to the future as this stretch of desert will see combat across two generations of Battlefield.

Is this gonna be in a 1.42 or 1.5 patch or just EA having too much spare time and giving out new maps for vBF2?

I thought EA wasn't goning to support bf2, but support their star wars game (BF2142)..

Just played a round of it....MAP SUCKS!!
Got a screenshot of a custom billboard, theyve putted into the map...

Kashan Desert is waaayy better than this ****....
Map plays like Zatar, flag hopping with helicopters and tank whores everywhere...not to mention the old trick of capping your opponents base first, since both bases arent uncaps...
Vanilla makes me sick...

IMO this map is crappy :/ no cover for Infa (not enough tanks for all 64 ppl.

But if this an official release then PR mapmakers can take the map and adjust to PR standards and we get a new map with a lot less work and when nillanoobs come here they will again realize the inherent superiority of PR.

There're no more patches for vBF2...so don't dream of receiving an insta-prone insta-whatever fix...regarding the map...it could turn out to be a good map that can be adjusted to PR standards for less work...but I'll let Rhino be the judge of that.

They better bring out a new patch coz atm 1.41 doesn't work without 1.4 try it i dare ya

(really dont it makes everything go black)and they are both 500 odd mb with like 1 change between the pair of them its pathetic 1gb space taken up just incase i want to reinstall grrrrrr

im not surpirsed, 2142 is flopping server wise, tv2 had a tonne of 2142 servers at launch now there are barely 4, ive also noticed quite a few other servers switching back to bf2.

bf2 has 8k servers with filters on, 2142 has nothing like that player base.

its a small shame, i mean some of the 2142 maps are brilliant, camp gibralta reminds be the 'the black gold' map and my knife clan days on modern combat on ps2.
