Hey guys, Riotmaker here. Some of you might remember me from the Percocet Mod... where our motto was, "Play it enough, and it'll get you high." :-) It wasn't really a "mod," more like a bunch of cool maps compiled together. But regardless, we did decent work with what we had.

Back then I was a simple map maker, but now I'm trying to step up into modeling and programming. I have recently applied to be on the PR Team and hopefully I'll be accepted.

Here are all of my most recent ideas for the Project Reality Mod. If you like them, don't be a ****** and steal them... at least give me props.

NEW CLASSES:

1) The "Water Boys" - Ok, we all know that soldiers in the real world need water to rehydrate and maintain stamina and health right? Well, why not apply this concept to PR? Essentially, we would create a new class for water truck operators. Only water truck operators will be allowed to drive the water trucks. The water trucks work like a traveling medic. If you're on the battlefield and are low on health, you would go stand near a water truck and then you will begin to regain health at 3 HP per second. The water truck operators receive points on a 3 to 1 ratio for a revive score. So for every 3 people you rehydrate, you will receive a revive score. Every squad leader will have the ability to call a water truck to their location. Once a call is placed, the water truck operator will pick up the beacon on their map and they must drive to it to rehydrate the squad. Once the water truck is at the beacon, the squad must stand within 10 feet of the water truck to regain health and stamina. The water truck operators will only be equipped with a standard M16 rifle, 4 fragmentation grenades, a KA-BAR knife, and a standard issue 9MM pistol. The water truck operators will also be issued Camleback packs. With these packs they can carry 5 canteens of "water" on them. They can place these canteens on the ground, just like health packs, so soldiers can pick them up and regain health. When the water truck operators run out of canteens, they must return to a nearby water truck to get more.

2) Medical Evacuation Pilots - In the real world, when a soldier is injured in combat and the injuries are serious and/or there is no medic around for the soldier, then the soldier must be evacuated. Why not apply this concept to PR? Essentially, we will create a new class for the Med-Evac Pilots. These pilots will fly unarmed blackhawk helicopters and will travel the air space looking for injured soldiers. An injured soldier must stand within 10 feet of a med-evac helicopter to regain health at 6 HP per second. The med-evac pilots can be summoned by squad leaders. Once a summon is made, the pilots will see the med-evac beacon on their maps and must fly to this location to "evacuate" injured players when there is no medic available. The med-evac choppers will be unarmed and will carry a big red cross on the side of them. This is to show that they are there strictly there to heal and evacuate injured players and do not pose a threat. Because of the fact that these choppers are virtually harmless and do not carry armed personnel, they are immune to any type of missile in the game. They can, however, be shot down by small and large caliber ammunition if they are fired upon and hit repeatedly and for a sustained period of time.

Dont think there is much danger of people stealing the ideas, I dont like the water boy idea dont really have much else to say on that one. And lots of different medevac ideas have been suggested before (im sure choppers have aswell).
The whole immune to projectiles defys the reality part of the mod. The way to discourage certain actions in this game is to give penaltys to spawn times, negative score etc. not to defy the laws of physics.

Welcome and good luck contributing to the game. The two ideas you posted are at odds with each other. If the water boy is healing people all the time and throwing canteens at people why would you need to be evacuated?

The current medic system is pretty good, have you tried 0.6 beta it is more challenging.

The other thing is if we have such a limited # of people per team (32) that if we start including to many logistical roles we will have very few soldiers to carry out the combat. :grin:

Good luck and don't be discouraged, usually the first few suggestions people put out there get shot down. With time you start to see the limitation and the areas for improvement. :grin:

Number one is just..... I'm not even going to comment. Number two is not a 'new' idea.

if we should have the medic chopper implemented, then there should be no room for passengers other than the pilot and if you shoot it then you should get a severe spawn penalty because it's against the laws of war to shoot at medical transport or medics (unless they carry a rifle). but i don't really know how to balance it because if the chopper lands near a guy to heal then the guy will be safe from tanks because they don't want to kill the chopper.

Why not just pack some plastic water bottles (you see them in every photo from Iraq) in the commander crate, and have the SLs request it when they get thirsty? Or, better yet, have soldiers refill their camelbaks from rifleman ammo bags (since the ammo bags apparently contain everything, from 9mm rounds to SRAW launchers).

The first idea, I don't understand; Why would you give a gun to Adam Sandler?

what about making a water truck, but simply requiring a crewman to be able to drive it? It would have healing properties, as would the chopper.

Same thing with evac chopper, but only a pilot can fly it?

Not able to easily make new classes on a whim.
