mp5 pdw for pilots?

Post by FockeWulf_ »

I really hate that if u get shot down u cant defend yourself properly because u have only m9 against ak's. So how about mp5 pdw(personal defense weapon) for pilots? http://www.remtek.com/arms/hk/mil/pdw/pdw.htm

To put this thread to rest, arming pilots with the m9 is realistic and is what will be represented ingame

I don't really care about this issue too much but some chopper pilots may prefer a compact SMG. They had a MP7 on the extraction maps.

Unless there is a distinction between Chopper and Fixed wing pilots, there should be no change in the current load out of the kit.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

You've got 30+ rockets + missiles + hellfires + cannons + 250kg bombs + Laser guided missiles....and now you want a mp5?

I've seen a lot of pictures of US army helicopter pilots flying with M4's in their cockpits in Iraq/Afghanistan and I've seen their russian counter parts with AKS-74u's so it's not outside the realm of possiblity to equip the class with an smg/carbine.

Never bail out anyway, mayaswell respawn somewhere that isn't in the middle of no where and where you will be of actual use. Not spamming for a pick up.

Adding an SMG would only give me more firepower to spray at helicopters/jets that get taken before i get to them... No wait i never do that!!! ****!

If there were a distinction between helicopter and fixed wing pilot, yes, but as it is at the current time, it doesn't make sense.

Well in pr, there is only one type of pilot.

Since a f-16 pilot wouldn't carry an assault rifle with them, the most realistic way is to give everyone a pistol.

Well as there's no distinction it could just be an smg like an MP5-K or an MP7 that would be more realistic.

I'm sure people would also rather have it so that in the off chance the pilot of the helicopter/plane they just shot down bails that they can easily be taken out without to much hassle. Rather than the pilot bailing then killing the one who shot down his chopper/plane.

Anyways, before this will be necessary we'd need a system which would reward pilots for bailing out at the right time/somebody rescuing them.(The simplest would be like: available pilot-places in choppers and planes is maximum pilot-kit count and you only can request another one at least 10-15 mins since the last pilot died)
