From the size of .50 cal rifles, I'd say if possible make it so that they are only usable when in prone position, or decrease the accuracy significantly when standing or crouching. I duno whats hardcoded and whats not though.

Both the M95 and M82 in-game can only be fired through prone position.

Right, lets think about this.

What would a "heavy sniper kit" be used for?

1. Killing infantry. Not only is this borderline illegal according to international law, we already have the perfectly suitable sniper kits that are already in game and do a fine job of zapping infantry at exteneded ranges.

2. Destroying light Vehicles. What, exactly is wrong with the 12.7mm HMGs mounted on jeeps, 25mm cannon on APCs or the widely availible light AT kits which are perfect (and more or less intended) for this purpose. Infact, concerntrated assault rifle fire can achieve the desired result if needed.

The only real use I can see is making lazy player's lives easier. Oh, and adding an additional layer to the start of round kit rush. As they are now, they are fine. You want it, you go find it.

Just in case you havn't got that, I'm against this idea.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Oh, sorry. I haven't actually got my hands on either of these weapons yet so I didn't know. Where are they available? 8)

All give off tracers and give away your position.

But it looks really cool and next to fastroping nothing gets some people more excited than to look cool.

Well it is used in real life, but I'm pretty sure it is illegal to use it against infatry and such. Some of the US snipers just wait for he guys to walk in front of a vehicle then shoot the guy... But I think its a pretty good idea. It would be cool to get to blow up jeeps and stuff with them. But it isn't really necessary, the light AT works perfectly =D.

Do you know why i suggested this? Because i saw how good my squadmate was at taking down the enemy humvees and littlebirds at 500m away which no AT rocket can reach! Why is everyone always against me.

Im not against you i would love to see this kit, it would rock seems ashame to waste 2 perfectly good models it could go like this,
UK: M82
US: M82
China: M95 As place holder
MEC: M95 As place holder

It would be truly Awesome only 1 kit per team and would only be available when 60 players were on the server :-)

The problem is... this kit will never get in the right hands as all 1337 noobs will grab it from the start and hold it for entire round ( or share it to enemy , which 7.62 snipers do on regular basis nowadays )

Not the AS50 AGAIN!

It's a semi automatic .5 cal sniper rifle, are you serious?

This is a common myth. They are perfectly legal as anti personnel weapons but just not used in that capacity as much. Also, the .50 cal machine gun is perfectly legal to fire at troops. Or the 20mm from a Cobra, for that matter.

Easter Egg on certain maps, just go find it and you'll have your "1 Heavy Sniper Kit" per map.

Someone might get hurt?

...Anyway being serious i dont really think there is any need for another sniper rifle you already get 4 on the larger maps where these would be of any use and if you want to take out light vehicles theres plenty of light and heavy at kits to be used too. If anything there needs to be a increase in heavy at kits on these kind of maps to keep the armour on its toes ;)
