Small Suggestion for Kashan

Post by Soulis6 »

So I have a rather quick idea for Kashan Desert. How about a few smallish bunker or basement areas in the north village (the one nearest the US base). This would make it so the USMC tanks and apcs couldn't just roll in and cap it right away, you would still need infantry to go in and clear out this area.

Thats it, just a small suggestion to an already amazing map.

I find that infantry can hide very well in the village, especially armed with a HAT.

Yeah, like this:
Tank 1: enemy infantry inside the village!
Tank 2: where, which house?
Tank 1:umm, try that one?
*houes blows up*
Tank 2: nah, that isnt the one
Tank 1: k, try that one over there
....so on...

Maybe some basements like in Basrah?

Yea, but they would probably need to be bigger then that. Wouldn't pose much of a problem if you could just toss a few grenades in and be done with it.

I'd rather see ladders put on the bunkers on the perimeter of the N/S Bunker complex.

What about a tunnel system in between a few of the houses? That way, soldiers would have to clear it out, and insurgents could hop from one side of the village to the other for an ambush without exposing themselves. It may seem a little Vietnam-ish, but it may work out. You could even go so far as to make specific areas of the tunnels destructible. That way, you could deny insurgents their tunnels if they are stupid enough to let soldiers penetrate their defenses.

Tunnels are "impossible" with this engine though they've made work arounds before.

Would need new models, unless you can improvise.
You gave me an idea

yea concrete ones shouldnt be impossible, just make a model with 2 buildings and a concrete corridor beneath and inbetween it and sink the buildings to ground level... wouldnt the "tunnel" then be under ground?

Exactly, I still think a small ticket penalty should be applied if someone blows up a house, its annoying seeing whole villages leveled while playing a game of H-AT-Whack-A-Mole. I know its been discussed to death, and that it'll die down, but it hasn't. (Died down that is.) Just voicing my opinion here though.

What? Ya'll don't order the A-10/SU-25 to just demolish the village from the get go? Saves on the headache later :P

About those destructables, I'd LOVE to see them in the future have more "life" to them -- furniture, or maybe some other colours than drab gray.

H-AT ambushing yet you can hide.
H-AT under attack by 10X zoom. I don't think so.

But thats not the problem. The problem is limited kit depend on player numbers at the moment. You get 0-2 H-AT kits no matter how many tanks and APCs.
