Class Specific Kits limited to Squads not Global
Class Specific Kits limited to Squads not Global
I like how there is a pool of weapons for anyone in any squad to be able to pick weapons. I was playing with the idea of having squad limitation to weapons. For example, 1 sniper per squad or one marksman per squad. I have seen many squads with all the long range weapons and it can help at times but as an officer I could us a marksman in my squad at times. I would not want to limit one class type per someone in my squad because that could cripple my team because most of the time I play with people that are new or kind of suck badly. I would not want to be stuck with them as a medic and have them run by me while another player would be better at the role. This was just a thought.

Yes, kind of but the problem with that is there would be too many running around then. The game would need to be changes to snipe whores. But if you limit to top squads that way squads that are a total pantie waste would not get them. Even that has problems because then new squads would be at a disadvantage and sometimes the best squads that help the team do not get the highest score because they are defending or something.

I have no problem with their being a marksmen in every squad. With the current game though, it could be problematic due to some current issues. There are a number of issues that hurt the infantry game: No "hit effect", insta-aim, insta-prone, no RL MOA, no suppression effect(slight?), no weapon sway etc. If we had a few of these fixed then things would be a little better. IIRC there is a marksmen present in most RL squads.

Problem is then every squad would have one sniper rifle, one marksman, one HAT, and maybe a SAW or grenadier.
I like global limit more. Cause when I see four crosshairs for kits in my squad, it makes me happy sometimes hahaha. Who needs a wall of lead when you can strike a shitload of fear into the enemy. Sure, some of the items were stolen from the other team, and one taken off a dead body from my team, but whatever.

Yea but then there's also a problem of squad hoppers and tension within the squad itself.VipersGhost wrote:A sniper in every squad isn't right. A marksmen yes...sniper no. Leave the sniper, HAT and whatever else global but I would allow a marksmen for each squad if possible. A good squad would have LAT, Medic, SL, Marksmen and two rifleman. Substitute that LAT for grenadier or engy as needed.
I mean it's not a problem with good players and team players, but I can see it as a problem with the occasional noob in a squad.
And a marksman kit for 6 person squad is too much imo ... I would rather see a 4man squad which is providing security and other stuff for the 6-man flag assaulting squads. Granted, that's how I theoretically have squads made out in my head hehe.

I can see where he's coming from, but I think the current system works well. If it was pure squad limiting it would mean every squad could have a sniper, H-AT, R-AA, etc. And thats too much. Global limits on the total number of kits and squad limits on the number of each type of kit each squad can have at any time.
Every squad should have access to a SAW (max 2 per squad. Especially as on many maps not all squads will be infantry, but used up crewing tanks and flying jets and helos.). Most squads should have access to R-AT kits and Grenadier kits (again, max of 2 of each per squad). Around half should have access to marksman kits (max 1 per squad).
H-AT and R-AA are more difficult as sometimes you might want to concerntrate them in a single dedicated Anti-Tank or Anti-Air squad while also you might want to make sure that no one squad can hog them while another needs them. Right now I'd say a maximum of 2 of each per team with a max of 2 per squad.
1 sniper kit per team, obviously no need to limit the number availible to each squad
All that assuming 32 players per team.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Yeah against tanks H-AT is only effective when 2 works together.Bob_Marley wrote:H-AT and R-AA are more difficult as sometimes you might want to concerntrate them in a single dedicated Anti-Tank or Anti-Air squad while also you might want to make sure that no one squad can hog them while another needs them. I don't think it should be a straight 2 per team 2 per squad limit for all maps though.
Map A has only APCs and H-AT kit is just overkill.
Map B has 6 tanks + APCs and issuing only 2 H-AT is unrealistic.

I disagree.
The infantry should be engaging the infantry but retain an anti-tank capability, just as it is now. If you give the infantry more AT weapons you're taking away from the combined arms approach that is needed to deal with all threats.
Sure, the infantry should have some capability to take down tanks, but if your attack helos/ CAS jets get shot out of the sky and your tanks blown apart your team should be more or less screwed, imo.

I agree with that.Bob_Marley wrote: Sure, the infantry should have some capability to take down tanks, but if your attack helos/ CAS jets get shot out of the sky and your tanks blown apart your team should be more or less screwed, imo.

Isn't squad kit limitations already ingame?
If you try to request the sniper kit and there alreay is one in your squad it will tell you that the squad limit has been reached.
Unless you want a sniper, HAt and SAW in every squad, which I don't see coming.
