RTFM
Marksman kit should be restricted to a 4+ squad I think though.
As for spotters, the easisest way to go is have the spotter with Binos Mark the targets for the sniper with the move/attack marker that way he gets a estimated range as well! i prefer using the rifle man kit as the spotter as he carrys ammo aswell.

This would create more problems than it fixes.
First, people could exploit the 2-man squad requirement. You get a 2-man, request your kits, and then feel free to invite as many as you want. It's the same as people joining a squad to get the kit and then leaving immediately after.
Second, if it was set up so that if more than 2 were in your squad you lost the weapon, well think about it. You are sitting on a hill, about ready to pop the enemy commander, and BAM! Your kit turns into a golden terd. WTF? Oh yeah, you didn't lock your squad and now a third person has made your kit go away.
There is no way to limit the sniper kit to a 2-man and only 2-man squad. Too many people exploit every bit they can, poor ******** just can't play unless they have the advantage. Even if it means cheating to win, some people are just that pathetic.
Besides, having a sniper team as part of another 4-man team can help at times. The sniper team can use the 4-man to destroy armor or RP's that the sniper team spots, as well as relay messages back to other squads. The sniper team can also help cover the 4-man team while advancing. I see no problem with allowing the sniper kit to remain as it is now.
And about the comment saying the Grenadier kit should be limited, WRONG! In real life there are 2 GR per squad, so yes they are vital to the battlefield. And they are surely not underplayed in PR, every map I have played I have seen multiple GR's in the field. You just have to know how to use the weapon as it was intended. It's an area weapon, not a laser-guided mini-bomb.

i have to agree with you that people would exploit the 2 man squad and it does help to have a sniper covering you and your squad as you move in to cap a flag. But this mod is about RL so this idea is still a good one, it should at least be considered by the Devs. Because as in RL snipers work in two man teams.
Can some plz tell me or pm me on how to upload pics so i can post some

Actually, I have yet to see one person in PR use the sniper role as it functions in real life. A real sniper rarely even takes a shot, their primary role is as observer and spotter for the commander, with their secondary role varying by the conflict scenario. Most people who take the sniper kit just get it so they can get a high kill-low death ratio at game end, and often times because they lack the skill to effectively fight any other way. I'm not saying all PR snipers are this way, but the majority I have seen in game from all over the world are for the most part...well, cowards.ReconAus wrote:i have to agree with you that people would exploit the 2 man squad and it does help to have a sniper covering you and your squad as you move in to cap a flag. You need to balance real life with gameplay, and due to the exploiting little punks in this game, I just don't see it working well without someone ruining it. One little exploit can destroy an entire mod update. And right now I think the current method of sniper kit acquisition is just fine.

I know what you mean im one of the few players that i've seen that use the sniper kit like it is used in RL. i normally do recon for my squad, cover them and i only fire if i have to. And yes some people can be cowards but for some people like me its just there playing style to sit back and support, e.g covering the team movments. But i still think that the 2 man squad is worth trying

Well, snipers should be able to hit a head 1500m away, and uber-snipers 2500m away (Cpl. Rob Furlong had the longest confirmed kill of an enemy at this distance in some valley in Afghanistan).
DM's are designed to take out targets up to 800m away, so if that was possible I would be a lot happier with the DM rifles.
