Is it just me, or have there been tons more playing project reality?

Post by lonelyjew »

Up until two days ago I've never played in a game with more than thirty people. But yesterday and today I've played in games with numbers exceding 40 people. I was off course very happy and excited to play with these conditions.

I think it's tons of new players who came all at once. I'm only basing this on the fact that I've had much more trouble finding squads that work together well. Today though, I played in a kick *** squad. We still lost, but one squad can't turn the tide of the whole battle.

I noticed the same thing. Today... I had to wait to get into the GloryHoundz server!! It had been full of 40 people when I looked at it. That was amazing!

That is what happens when the word gets out about the mod. The interview and video on totalbf2.com is the reason.

I have asked quite a few of the new players what peeked thier interests and the answer has been what they saw in the video.

Now most importantly all of them have stated that they do not want to ever return to vanilla. That is a good thing.

The infidels have now been converted.

I was once an infidel but has seen the light :)

And yes the BF2 interview was great for promotion. Maybe a mixed blessing though as I've seen alot of noobish stuff recently, and general tank whoring etc

I feel like the I am part of the crusades and we must convert the nonbelievers to see the truth.

The ORE EYE are the only way, REality is the only way!
All hail the ore eye, all hail the reality!

Yes, a lot more people have been playing/downloading the mod. The thing is, when they first see that its a 'mini-mod', they usually think 'How could this have any noticeable changes vs. vanilla Bf2?'
Most minimods out are just made by 1 person who wanted to change a few things to better suit them. So when they come across this and actually check it out, they are like "Wow, this is amazing"

I totally feel the same way, though I remember posting on the battlefield 2 forums at forumplanet and felt nobody cared. The only responses I remember getting were from people who already played the mod. But, at least one of those people directed me here.

I seem to be a very popular squad leader... Lol.

I can vouch for that, Johnson :p . Excellent use of the mic, that's all.

I definitely think word-of-mouth was in play here, I even have a few converts.

We're going to need more servers ...

By the way, ThRealFritz, is there any reason the Gloryhoundz server is set to 40 players vs. 64 players? Lag issues? Hardware limitations? Or has it just not been changed recently?
