Yeah Rawkk is right.

It looks like there's a solution for the players with EA Downloader game versions.

However, before I can come out with something, I need to know how many servers are using the shader check script as the fix can be also used as an exploit to disable the custom shaders.

If you are able to start normal BF2 using a link like that:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Then you are able to start PR using the pr.exe and You will NOT get kicked if you start PR with a link like that:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart

Well this is just great. Cant play the mod anymore , tried last night and 5 servers in a row kicked me for the shaders ****, all off a default install

Next lets work out banning everyone who gets CTD's cause thats unfair advantage to tooo, BLAH

As long you don't use pr.exe to start pr you will not get it fixed.
As long you do not post all steps, you will not get it fixed.
Perhaps someone else has x-ray glasses and the endurance to help you out.

Using BF2 Complete Collection is no excuse to not use pr.exe - confirmed yesterday.

As with any problems with BF, there is a series of acts you can do to repair.

1) run registry cleaner, spybot S&D, adaware 2007, antivirus, defrag HDD with a proper tool if using XP, not the inbuilt one
2) delete your cache (if you don't mess with controls, then in XP : start/mydocuments and delete the entire Battlefield2 folder, run the game and setup again)
3) reinstall vBF2 patch v1.41
4) remove and reinstall PR v0.756
5) remove video drivers, use drivercleanerpro, reinstall latest video drivers or older ones if that doesn't work

This list ought to be your first recourse, needs to be in a stickied thread, for people to go through before they start asking questions or stating "my game doesn't work" as you aren't dealing with a console game but a Windows machine! HDD's corrupt over time, data corrupts, installations corrupt. You are dealing with magnetic media. Maybe when solid state RAM type HDD's come around things will be safer, but till then you must see that data fails in Windows systems.

Sorry Arn if a bit of frustration leaked into ONE post after paying 100 bucks just to play this mod just to be kicked from every server i join. ( new headset + bf2 )

I saw a copy of bf2 go for 6 dollars the other day, the advantage of playing a 3 year old game is that it should cheap as chips to buy another copy and Yes EA suck

Thats why i asked him to give as much informations as possible instead of just telling that something sucks.

The version of BF2 he is referring is working fine here - thats why i need more informations, adequate informations - each time he tries - not just fragments.

The downloadable BF2 Complete Collection - works as a normal installation here - instead of checking the present DVD it just checks a running Downloader and legit account. You can use all link-options as normal. You can use pr.exe to start pr normally.

i suspect you have the gamelogicinit.con problem. check in this thread, deadfast has posted his file somewhere.

Did deadfast post a fix already? He fixed my problem but afaik he was waiting to be sure It worked before posting the fix

@Rawkk: That's not the same problem as you had (besides, check your PM)

@Joker: Yep, I did post a file, I think it was in the help board. But it was the gamelogicinit.con located in mods\pr.

@Mora: Try to get the name. There are multiple .con files in mods\bf2 so it's hard to tell which might be acting up.

I hate to say it's weird how many people are having problems with corrupted files BTW...

Many people are having the problem that the shaders don't work with a normal install.

My path looks like this:

The shaders work, but I get kicked by PB for shader issues.

As said before, that's most likely a corrupt BF2 install, reinstall BF2 patch 1.41
