Increase score for transportation
-After transporting 4-5 squads from USMC Main to near Bunker I got shot down by a tank somewhere in the hills next to Bunkers while transporting someone to South Village. After that I had something like 50 points...

Re: Increase score for transportation
If i remember right, you get a shed load of points for transport.
It seems that way, anyway. If you can keep a BH/huey up for a whole round of Jabal, you will probly end with approx 1500-2000points.

-I've had a BH up an entire round on Kashan(Two hours I think) and I don't think I cracked the 500 mark even(Granted, I flew a lot of 1-2 man loads).

i think the points get exponentially higher with the number of passangers i got like 150 points for dropping off a full heli once.

Don't know about light vehicles, but tank drivers get a ton of points. I had a driver on a 10 vs 10 kashan disconnect on me leaving me to kill 10 enemies solo (apc/tank/tank/AA/supply truck). He rejoins drives for 10 minutes and has more points than me.

Well, if you drive a humvee the whole round you do get allot of points.

Yea Ive been the #1 player on a server just by not dying in a blackhawk on jabal. Its generous, if score was important then this might have to be removed for being too easy to take advantage of

Yes, I think you do get high points for transport.

Re: Increase score for transportation
Try transporting ENTIRE squads, thats really the most useful and helpful thing to do when running a transport squad. Transporting 1 or 2 troops to random areas really does nothing, cause that guy will probably just tard rush in and die 30 seconds later and want another ride to his death again.
Transporting spotters and snipers to good spots is a so-so useful thing, but often times its better for the spotter/sniper to just get there on his own so hes more hidden.
Transporting an ENTIRE squad or TWO SQUADS at the same time using your transport and your wingman/driver partner is the best and most useful way to run trasnports... Getting those squads into a good position quickly, giving them cover fire/dropping ammo or supply crates is what transport job is all about... you can easily get 3000 points if you do this regularly, but it all depends on the cooperation you get with the infantry, you REALLY need to coordinate with a good CO or have good infantry squads that TRUST you. Most players dont want to get in the back of a helicopter when they know the helicopter has crashed 7 times, I know I wouldnt.... So make it a point to have ZERO deaths, and your trust will go a long ways...
This often means youll have some boring parts of the map where no one needs transport, but its good idea when playing transport to have some good music rolling with you, and make sure when your back at base not doing anything you are CONSTANTLY scanning the map, seeing where the trouble areas are, and seeing where each squad is, knowing when a squad dies and anticipating his need for transport. Also memorize where each commanders 'landing zone' markers are.

So very true. Most of the time all I get is someone hopping in and "Go go go"or a squad asking for a pickup next to that enemy tank over there or that oh so happy looking L-AT they didn´t tell me about across the street.[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote: but it all depends on the cooperation you get with the infantry, you REALLY need to coordinate with a good CO or have good infantry squads that TRUST you.
Why does no one ever say where to go.

I beleive that when you get shot down or killed while being transport you lose points,
so ending up with 50 points is perfectly plausible

Yup, that sounds exactly like how it is in game and Fuzzhead is right. If you find yourself doing this, it has a name... "Tard rush", so don't do it, and don't label yourself a tard.[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:Try transporting ENTIRE squads, thats really the most useful and helpful thing to do when running a transport squad. Besides, I hope you have a good reason to spawn on the carrier/main base if your squad has an RP up. Sometimes you'd like to shake some sense into people. One of the largest issues as a helicopter pilot is keeping the number of your trips to a minimum. The more people you drop off, the more likely your LZ will be blown and the next time you come around theres a Light-AT waiting for you.
Trust me, the 1 guy your giving a ride to could honestly care less about you or your helicopter and that is purely selfish as most players either are or don't realize it. It is the squad leader's responsibility to regulate his men, because no one else is going to do it. As a Squad Leader you must organize and have your men go in together. If someone was in my squad who was spawning at the carrier/main base repeatedly for a ride... You'd better prepare yourself for some serious smack talk and/or a swift boot from the squad after pulling that because I assure you, you're not helping anyone.
As for the pilots/crewman, you must do what you have to and preserve vehicles. It's about maintaining and utilizing them properly when you use a jet, helicopter, tank, etc. you're not using it for yourself, you're not using it for your squad, it's bigger than that... You are using it for the whole team. That's right, the 31 other people on the server. If you decide to use a vehicle you'd better be prepared to accept the responisbilities of having one. That means if you're flying a helicopter transport you remain at the carrier/main base until your called for, this means you are NOT going to joyride around the map because you are bored. Earn some self control and discipline before you get shot down and everyone else has to deal with your mistake. This goes to those 1 man tanker/APC's out there aswell.
But back to the main topic...
Yes, points are given and are multiplied based on your deaths, so the less deaths you have the better. If you can fly, tank, APC, etc. a whole round without dying you'll earn some massive points.
Also one of these little details I've noticed if you're that keen on earning your share of recognition... After driving, gunning or flying around for awhile, simply dismount the vehicle and watch the score board. Apparently the scoreboard is updated upon everytime you exit a vehicle of any sort. Chances are is that inside the BF2 engine is that they estimate your death to be frequent (Seeing BF2 is your run-and-gun style game.) you earn the majority of your points after you exit/blown up out of it.
I myself have played in APC's on Al-Basrah, found myself sitting around like 750 teamwork points, then upon returning to base for repairs and ammo at the command post I simply dismount the vehicle for a moment and check the scoreboard. Whereas I was at 750 teamwork points before, it has now shot up to like 1000 or so.

Re: Increase score for transportation
i love it when drivers got more points. maybe you should get more points by shooting with the minigun in a blackhawk. then people will accualy make use of it. expecialy on the kashan 16 sise. those miniguns pretty much rule. although you dont get vry much points for it...

I dont think it should be increased, mainly because all you have to do is transport people somthing like 15 meters to achieve points. And i have heard of people spamming this.

grumble mon, i was in an F-16 yesterday and got 17kills, 2 froggies , a mig and some choppers full of infantry, possibly some starfing witht the cannon, and i would have got about 630 points but i got taken down 3 times, so minus 240points that sucks. Anyway i only got shot down the fist time because i was typing and the mig snuck up behind me. stupid lack of control while typing. more points for jets dammit transport get enough already, Shooting down a Froggy does more for the team than dropping noobs in the mountains. And shooting down choppers prevent reinforcements, stupid - 80 points for being killed while typing.
